Obviously your switch is broken internally. You'll need to turn off the breaker to the light which will be evident when it goes off. Then change out the switch. Turn breaker back on to restore. I'm assuming that this light/switch worked once upon a time and that it was wired right.

Overhead light turns on when walking into garage. sensors turn it on. how can we fix this?

Hi Laura:
Mine does this too. I just thought that it was supposed to do this as it made sense to me. The light automatically turns off after a few minutes, so if the sensor indicates that someone is walking in and out while the door is open, the light stays on.
I'm thinking........... It ain't broke..... don't fix it.

Tps problem on a 2002 mercury sable

Then you did not fix the problem. Codes are not cut and dry, it can be the part the wiring to it or in rare cases a defective Powertrain control module (PCM)

Glove box light won't turn off

Check around the area that the glove bx contact when you closed.
There is a tiny switch there (spring load kind push in and out).
-If you find it, push or press in by hands to see if it off or not.
-If off.>>> You need to adjust the glove bx door to push in when it in closed position.
-If it's not.>>> Replace the switch.

I have three wires, two are black and one is white. I want to have the outlet active and the switch control an overhead light. How do I connect the wires?

Connect the white on the switch to the white in your house, one black to the hot coming in, and the other black to the hot wire to the overhead fixture.

Overhead light stays on all the time on craftsman garage door opener

Hello. If the light stays on all the time check these:
A. The light time delay on the opener will keep the light on for approximately 4-1/2 minutes after the system has be activated, then will turn the light off automatically.

B. If the opener has a worklight switch (which is supplied only with a four-function wall console), slide the switch to "OFF" position.

C. If the opener has a pedestrian switch (which is supplied only with a four-function wall console), the light will stay on for 4-1/2 minutes after the pedestrian door has been opened.

How do I remove the door panel on a Ford F250 Supercab. I'm trying to find the switch for the ''doors adjar' light which won't go off and subsequently keeps my dome and outside bed light on and draws down...

the door adjar switch is the problem. the cargo light stays on until 35mph, as well as the overhead dome light. i just took the bulb out of the dome light and dont worry about the cargo light. it stays on for 30 min after the truck is turned off if the switch didnt trip properly. it shouldnt cause any problems as long as your batteries are good. i havent replaced the switch yet but it should be on the part of the door by the latch. get the replacement part and do a visual I.D. when you get the panel off. then replace it. the sensor is only 14$

The overhead lights do not work when the door is open The lights work when turned on manually.

Check on your overhead lamp switch. There are 3 positions-off,on, and door operated. The dash control for the dashlights may overide the switch that is on the lamp fixture. That is why you can turn it on from the dash and not the door.
