You have to take off the battery. the 9000 series are the unique design. it wont off whenever you turn off the phone power. it made that way, coz if you turn off the phone, you can still use the pc / applications.

I have a compaq SR1630NX. I cannot turn the computer on. The green light in the back is on so there is power. I think the switch is bad as it feels broken does not click any more. can I get a new one. What...

Hi Sandy, It might just be that the power button is depressed or that the part that holds the button has been moved back too much.
What I did was remove the power button from the machine, checked the connections to the motherboard and removed then replaced the actual power button from the plastic that's holding it against the front panel of the computer. (it's a gray plastic square that has a black power button) Check that the button depresses when you press it now. For me, it turns out the plastic part that holds the power button was pressed back too much. Removing and then putting it back and pushing it all the way to the front (the actual gray box), fixed the problem for me. Just check that the button from the plastic front panel and the actual button (gray plastic with black lever) are actually working and make contact. Maybe try using it a bit without the front panel?
I hope it may be as simple for you as it was for me. If you do this, just don't forget to remove all power from the machine and remove the plastic front panel from the case. Good luck!

Bought new power supply, no difference power button will not even go on or light up ; however small green light on mother board lights up. als accidentaly disconnected the switches wiring to the mother...

The green light just show that the motherboard is getting power.
The power button of the front of the case is connected to the mother board, not to the power supply, usually in the extreme lower left corner along with the with the HDD and Reset Button cords; Power button wire are labeled and usually red/black.
If all wired correctly, possible bad or stuck power button or reset button.
Hope this helps.

as i always say:
intercept all of cables of your PC case and even power cable of your monitor.
evolve battery of bios then wait for 25 minutes then connect all of cables and try turning on your PC:
1- with battery of bios
2- without battery of bios
it should work.
(this works cause the motherboard reset it's bios and start correctly again).

How can I fix the 'on' button on my computer. It

After a while of use the front cover of the PC can come loose causing the issue you are describing. What I would do is turn off the computer (actually unplug it to ensure you don't get shocked) and remove the front-panel of the computer (usually accomplished by prying it off starting at the bottom). If you think you will break the case doing this, remove the side-panel as shown here, then check to see if the front-panel is secured with screws. If screws are securing the front-panel, remove them. Afterward try prying the front-cover off again.

CAUTION: Touch the metal chassis of the case before placing your fingers near electronic components inside the computer! If you don't, even the slightest static-electricity discharge can break electronic components inside your computer.

Just so you know, I've removed front panels from computers multiple times. Never have I removed one without some form of cracking/popping noise being generated. Therefore don't get frightened if you hear one, it's quite normal (especially on Dells).

After you have removed the front-panel of the computer, inspect the power-button-depressor. We're checking to make sure it's not broken or that it slipped out of its housing. If the plastic power-button-depressor is broken, check to see if you can position it in a way that it will still be functional. If not I would remove (break off) the power-button-depressor, install the front-panel making sure that it seats firmly, then use some form of a small device (such as a toothpick, pencil (use the flat end), or some other small device) which will depress the actual power-button inside the front-panel.

However, if the power-button-depressor is not broken, simply install the front-cover making sure it reseats firmly. Afterward check to see if the power-button-depressor functions correctly.

If you're still encountering the same problem I would just break off the plastic power-button-depressor (requiring you to remove the front-panel again. Once again, don't forget to touch the metal chassis to prevent an inadvertent static-electricity discharge) and use a small device (as mentioned above, a toothpick, pencil, or other small device) which will easily depress the power-button inside the front-panel.

Hopefully reseating the front-panel will resolve your issue. Yet if it doesn't, you can still operate the power-button by use of a small device. No, you will not be shocked, nor will you come close to exposed electrical wiring (all wiring inside computers is insulated allowing you to touch it while the computer is running). Therefore the use of a small device to power on your computer is quite practical if your original power-button-depressor broke.

Let us know how things turn out.

My mitsubishi ws65807 remote stopped working and also the front console buttons would not work, couldn't even turn unit off. Unplugged tv and plugged back in. Green light blinked 2-3 times and then...

the first three flashes when the set is plugged in indicate whether or not the microprocessor has initialized. The sections involved are the microprocessor, the standby power supply, and the buttons, LED, etc.

The most common causes I have found are the standby power supply, the front panel assembly, and CRT fluid leakage. Are you comfortable working inside the set? This may or may not involve measuring live voltages with a multimeter

If yes, the first step a technician would take is to remove the speaker grill(s) and then the front cover at the bottom. A quick check of the front panel is to simply follow the wires from the bottom of the screen assembly until you reach in-line connectors. Disconnect these (squeeze clip on the side of connectors) and then plug in the set and try the remote pointed at the screen. If the set powers up, then the front panel assembly is bad.

Also, inside the front, view the PC boards for CRT fluid leakage. The fluid is (originally) clear and is slightly thicker than water. Any fluid whatsoever, even a drop, can cause damage to the PC board. The fluid will cause any dust in the set to discolor; this may make it easier to spot (please look very carefully).

The next step is to check the standby power supply accessed through the rear of the set. The main fuse is suspect (F9D00), although not likely if you are hearing a sound when the set is plugged in. Two other fuses to check are pico-fuses in the standby power supply (F9A01 and F9A06). These are located on the center (Power) PC board, near the center of the board, toward the rear. If either of these are bad, then there is likely another failure that caused it. Of course, if any fuse is changed, please use the same value only (I have the manual to look up the values if needed).

If all these are good, then the next step is voltage measurement of the standby power supply. I will pause here and wait to hear your results.

Hope i helped you.

Won't turn on when I press the front button

This sounds like your power supply; it's the part that the power cord plugs into that converts the power to dc and powers your motherboard, drives, and everything else inside your computer. You can pick one up for around $30 online or $80 at a retail store.

Thanks and please take a moment to rate as fixya.

My pc turn on before I press the switch button. Then after it starts. It wasn't able to log-in in windows. Instead, the monitor turn off automatically then the orange or amber light is flashing. I'm glad...

If the front Light is flashing amber, the systems power supply has gone bad. Request you to replace the power supply and the front I/o panel and power switch . The issue would be resolved.
