Question about Panasonic NN-T551 Microwave Oven
Hi. My microwave is not working. It powers on (the light inside the chamber glows) but the display (LED counter) does not come on and there is no response when pressing the buttons. And, there's a low humming noise when powered on (when the power switch in turned on). Any idea what I should be doing?
I must have suggested this 20 time today. if you open the casing you will find several fusees that the manufacturers don't want you to know about.
you have a 10 ampish large fuse that protects the power circuits ( transformer/magnatrons) smaller fuses for control circuits also might want to look atand reset the thermal cutouts. if it overheatedprior to failure

most microwaves do have an internal ceramic fuse either 15 amp or 20 amp the cover has to come off to locate it usually at the top just behind the control board. do not touch the high voltage capacitor as it holds a charge even when the unit is unplugged.

this could be loss windings on the mains coil or the capasitor is shorting out my gess is its soon going to pack up on you,,,start saving up your pennies for a new microwave as ther so cheap now its realy not worth having them fixed

You can try MCM electronics, Digikey or Newark as they have replacement magnetrons. Also, replace the high voltage diode that is associated with that magnetron or you will probably burn up your newly acquired magnetron.
Energies associated with magnetrons can be fatal. Know what you are doing prior to replacement.
