Why does my vcr play, fastforward and rewind for 4 seconds then stops for no reason?

When the mechanism is damaged the VCR will attempt to play and then shut itself down to prevent any further damage. If you remove the top cover and look around inside you will probably find the cause of the failure.

@hotmail.comsir i got panasonic nv-fj620b-k vcr, when i connect vcr with tv i have only audio not video, kindly let me know which type of cable i may use to get connected properly regards

Depends how you are connecting at the present. If you use a Scart, make certain it's a good one as the pins are easily damaged and can cause loss of picture.

Panasonic vcr - audio working, no video

I think this sounds like the old test signal so you can tune in the RF on a TV. Have a look around the back see if you can see a test switch.
You can also look it up in the manual. If you have lost that you can download it free from the Panasonic website.

I change Component Cable Video & Audio 6 cables

I might sound stupid but Double check that you`ve connected the correct connectors as in All Inputs plugs being used or All outputs plugs being used. If you have one of these leads with 6 connectors on one lead, (Audio Input L+R, Video Input, Audio Output L+R, Video Output) You need to make sure that if you get sound from the audio input plugs, then you must use the video input plug and vice verse. To Connect AV Cable from Panasonic VCR to Sony 29 inches

You can either connect the antenna output of the VCR to TV ant in or hookup the audio/video outputs from VCR to audio/video TV inputs. If using the antenna output you need to sellect channel 3 or 4 to view VCR. If using the adio/video lines you need to select the line input on TV to view VCR.

EC means euro connector, I.E. Scart socket. For some reason there is no video signal coming out of the scart cable/out of the VCR or being displayed on the TV. Try plugging the scart plug into a different scart socket and see if that helps.

Panasonic NV SJ205 changing RF settings

Hi,
Your VCR has input to record video-audio signal. Here is 2 options to record program in vcr.
1= You need to hook up video-audio cable at Monitor Out in TV and video-audio in at VCR. select Line-1 or Line-2 (where you hook up cable) in vcr and insert cassette with Record Tab intact, VCR is ready to record TV program. select desired channel on tv and hit record button of vcr, recording will start.
2= Plug RF antenna / cable wire in RF In of vcr and tune desired channel in vcr (get help of vcr's user manual for that) and push record button to start record directly in vcr.
Have further query, let me know please.
bye.

Panasonic NV-SJ205 Changing Rf ?

ok. This is a really easy one.
All you have to do is hold down the menu button on the remote control for more than 5 seconds, If that doesnt work hold down the power button on the remote control for more than 5 seconds. If that doesnt work hold down the power button on the actual vcr unit for 15 seconds. The first method should work for Panasonic's fine.
This will then display your current rf output.
You can then change the output by using the up and down arrows or the channel up and down button on your remote or the vcr unit.
Press menu button to save or the same button you used to bring up the rf opposition eg power button on remote or the unit.

all the best. Top tech
