I have a Pioneer xv dv55 . My sub or speakers are not working!

I've had mine for nine (9) years and it fine, first make sure all coloured wire are connected to the sub correctly, press sys on your remote then press button 8 to test if the speakers are working then increase the volume to hear the spaekers. so to link TV audio/sound with DVD press sys then A-2 on the DVD remote, I hope these will solve ur problem?

Philips Home Theatre System - no sound or power light on sub woof

reset the device to factory settings, it is written in your manual how to do this. If that doesnot work, unplug the powersocket for about 30minutes, it will cause an internal reset which might solve it.

NO SOUND From JVC TH-S5 Home cinema system

I know this is an old topic however someone somewhere might benefit from this feedback. I purchased the JVC TH-S5 service manuals from and after metering all the supplies as 'OK', I then focused in on the 'common' lines associated with the two onboard power amps IC's (STK413-400) and found that they were missing a bias supply. This is derived from the onboard 40v Supply 'dropped' down by a 47 ohm resistor R2702 (rated 1/4 watt but advised to make this at least 1/2 watt). The resistor was found to be open circuit i.e. a very high ohmic value. Looking at the circuit diagram again, I would feel that this is going to be a common issue with this unit.

No reception or sound on rear speakers.

Here's the fix: power off the sub-woofer and wait for 60 secs before powering it on again. My rear receiver works every time now.  I guess the sub-woofer isn't just a dumb speaker; it has some kind of smarts in it too.
Prior to this, I had only tried cycling power to the DVD player itself.  I also re-seated the two, fat cables connected to the junction box. One of them had worked itself slightly loose and the result was completely absent speaker channels.

Sounds like your original and this sub have bad amps. The amp for the sub is not the same as the amp for the other speakers. The old unit has a dead amp and this new one is on the way out. (Pulling too much current on high bass)

Subwoofer not powering up

I could either be the sub or the main unit. The main unit actually sends a signal to the sub to turn it on so if that circuit is bad in the main unit the sub is never going to come on. I've also seen bad cables (You'd be amazed at how stubborn people can be when din connectors don't cooperate).
