Question about Kenmore Washing Machines
THE SPIN BASKET ON YOUR MACHINE SITS ON A PART CALL THE DRIVE BLOCK. THIS CAN BE BROKEN.
YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE THE AGITATOR. UNDER THAT YOU WILL SEE A BIG NUT WHICH IS TIGHTENED ONTO THE "DRIVE BLOCK. LOOK CLOSELY NEAR THE CENTER OF IT AND YOU WILL TWO EARS THAT COME UP SLIGHTLY TO JOIN THE DRIVE BLOCK. THE EARS COULD BE NOT CONTACTING PROPERLY AND ALLOWING IT TO SLIP. THIS CAN SOUND LIKE A MACHINE GUN SOMETIMES.
OR, THE DRIVE BLOCK IS JUST BROKEN AND ALOWED THE SPIN TUB TO SLIP DOWN AND NOW ITS RUBBING AGAINST THE OUTER SHELL.
