Hello, We have a Gaffer & Sattler drop in

Hello, We have a Gaffer & Sattler drop in stove. It came with the house we are living in. The oven pilot light is on and when we try to turn on the oven, you hear the gas and the pilot light will flare up, but will not ignite. We were told that the pilot light heats the sensor that opens up the ''gas flow regulator'' which ignites the burner for the oven. They explained that the part is very difficult to find so it will cost us $210 since he has to order it from some place in Ohio, and it isn't even the original part. And that doesn't include the repairs or the service call. Can you help? The top range works great, it is just the oven. Can you help??

Your web site stated you would assist; it didn't state that if an answer is needed, it must be paid for. WE needed immediate assistance, now there is a charge. YOU SHOULD BE HONEST ENOUGH TO STATE THAT FROM THE FIRST, THEN I WOULD HAVE BEEN PREPARED AND NOT HAVE BOTHERED YOU. I work for the state, and so far this year I have had my pay cut 15%, state income taxes raised, and two holidays stolen by the legislature that was supposed to protect me. And since Thanksgiving day, everywhere I have looked for assistance first offered "just ask away" only to find out, "we charge X-amount for the answer to your question" What ever happened to - how can we help?

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

SOURCE: pilot heats up but gas will not come into bar with little holes in oven

Check the voltage at the oven gas valve, if you are getting 120v, then you have a bad gas valve.

SOURCE: Gas Stove top seems to

Sounds like it's not getting gas. Check to make sure all gas line valves are turned on and the tank has gas in it.

SOURCE: stove top burners work but when the oven is turned

Hello,

The problem beleive it or not is that the bake igniter is weak ,and it is not drawing the proper amprage to open the gas valve. If you have a amp meter access the wires to the bake igniter(usually behind the storage drawer) and check for 3.3-3.6 amps when oven is set to bake by clamping the meter around ONE wire wire of igniter make sure only one wire, either one and not both.
if amp draw less than 3.3-3.6 amps replace bake igniter. I know it seems improbable that if the igniter comes on that it could be the problem.Professional appliance technicians who would charge a average of $250.00 to repair your oven, have found when the igniter comes on yet the oven won't heat that a weak igniter is the cause 100% of the time

Hello...There are several factors to consider....It's normal for the meter to speed up when you use the oven because the heating elements are high current devices...Several questions come to mind like do you use your over normally on a daily weekly basis??...Do you live in a house or apartment??..What about you heating system..did you use space heaters? or use the over to heat the house? what about Christmas lights and other decorations that use electricity...Were these all current charges? If all this checks out...I suggest you post a complaint or inquiry with your electric company...Let me know the outcome...I hope this was helpful.....PEACE...

Oven locked up

What breaker did you shut off? House breaker? Or the ovens internal breaker? My drop in has a set of push button breakers under the oven behind a fold down door. The fold down door is in place of a regular ovens pull out drawer. Check in there if you have one. The light are more than likely a warning somethings wrong. If this was just installed check to make sure it was grounded properly. Also check to make sure the AMP rating of the stove and the one in the house breaker box match up. The house one can be higher but not the other way around. Hope that helps.
