Uninstall the program again (installer). Try to reinstall the program with the webcam on it to be detected. When you use the cam on the Desktop, try to properly remove the device by clicking the task bar and exit. Wait for pop up instruction to remove the cam.
Try this... thanks

Go into Device Manager and if it doesn't appear there click "scan for hardware changes". If that doesn't work, makes sure you have plug and play enabled. Always use the safely remove hardware option when unplugging it.

It maybe faulty. Try it in another computer. If it still does not then it is faulty. You need a new WEBcam.

My built in webcam on my computer isn't trying to work

Try re-installing the WEBcam driver.
You can download the WEBcam and device drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Tag label is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where the specific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you select the Windows of the drivers for your Windows operating system. Click on this link to download the drivers: - http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen

Webcam isn't working or being recognized

Have you tried - pressing and holding the FN key (at the bottom left of your keyboard) and then press once the key with a little picture of a webcam at the top of the keyboard... like this
http://tinyurl.com/4x5kcag
If that doesn't work have you checked if the driver is installed for the webcam?
you can also try here http://www.testmycam.com/ to see if it is a software issue?

You should be able to download the webcam driver from the HP Support website. Once it's installed it should work with all instant messaging applications.

Hello browderel:

First try rebooting your PC and then plug in your Webcam and see if it gets recognized.
Windows is flaky that way sometimes.
Don't forget to give the thumbs up if this helped at all.

My computer not recognized the USB Flash memory, but it recognized other device like the mouse, webcam scanner, digital camera ... Thanks for your help

if usb flash memory is working on other computer/laptop then do the following step.

Insert the usb flash memory.
Goto desktop, right-click my Computer, click Properties, click on Harware tab, click Device Manager button.

There should be yellow exclamation(!) sign showing Unknown Device
Right-click and select UnInstall.

Reboot your laptop
Insert the usb flash memory.

It should work.

Logitech camera plugged in but still can't recognise device. It always says device not pluged in.

please, note if the USB drivers for logitech were installed when the rest of software was. only as that the motherboard will recognize the webcam.

in the logitech's webcam cd, you'll see a chapter with only USB DRIVERS. if not, you can find them in www.driverguide.com.
it's free registration and easy to use site.
