Furnace faults out for water blockage in Coil front cover

I bought my house last year December. It has a Goodman GMH95 Furnace. It was running ok last winter, except faulting out once every other week. This year it's worse. He never makes it up to the target temperatur. What i found out so far is that water builds up in the Coil front cover where the induce blower is attached to, until it blocks the port from the pressure switch and faults out. (3 blinks) As soon as the blower stops, a lot of water runs out of the drain port on the coil cover. What could cause the blower to build up that much vacuum to keep all the water in there? My guess would be that some vent port is blocked. But where. Anybody has an idea?

I think the drain is restricted and not allowing the water to drain fast enough. As the inducer collects water it is normal for the vacuum to increase. Is there a vent on the condensate drain to break the vacuum? If not, add one by cutting in a tee on the drain line as it exits the furnace and put a 4or5" stand pipe above the tee. Is the unit displaying any blinking lights by viewing thru a small window? If so, remove the lower panel and look on the wiring diagram for an error code to give you a starting point where to look. If you are getting a 3 blink error code, what I mentioned above may help. There should be no water leaking into the furnace, you need to figure where the water is coming from and need to stop it.

How do I clean the evaporator coil on my Goodman air conditioner? The model number is H36-F.

Remove the cover in front of the coil, If the line set runs thru this cover try to slide it out of the way, some units have a triangle shaped sheet metal covering the end of the coil, if so remove.
The dirty side of the coil will be, on the air filter side of the coil, if the coil is very dirty use a vacuum with a with a brush and vacuum off the worst of the debris, some fins are soft so pay attention to them along the process. Using something like 409 and a pump up sprayer or squirt bottle spray the coil, start at the bottom and work your way up, this is so the water will drain into the drain pan.
When using the 409 and water watch that the water is not dripping into the furnace if so use a towel and or something to prevent the drips from getting into the furnace, take your time and be thorough.
Please buy a quality air filter, and prevent having to clean the coil again.

I have a Goodman GMH95/GCH9 furnace. The blower runs but no flame. LED is on (normal operation) checked fuse ok. held down fault button-6 flashes. didnt look like the draft blower turned on when a call for...

Hello, you can check the resistance of the motor by turning power off to the furnace and disconneting tje two wires which go to the motor. Take a meter and check the resistance, you should have resistance, if not the motor is bad. A rollout switch is a normally closed switch so you will chevk its resistance aswell, if the switch is open that signals a problem with the burner flames and you not read resistance. If the switch is closed and good you will read resistance.

Furnace will not shut off after the setting is reached. have changed thermostat. Temperature reading goes down on thermostat, furnace still runs. Model : Goodman furnace,gmh95/gch9

Check if your thermostat is set on 'o fan' setting.
If it is, trey to set it on 'Auto-fan' instead.
since it seem as if the heating does go off, only the fan may be running continuously.
this is possible if the thermostat is incorrectly set or installed.
good luck.

Goodman furnace wont come on

If this is a High Eff furnace:
1) Remove the compartment that has the igniter and burners, turn the
power back on, if the furnace lites then you have a problem with the
intake air vent, probably iced over if you live where its cold.

2)Make sure the exhaust vent is not getting backpressure from the
wind.

3) you could cut the pipes on the inside of the house to disconnect them from the furnace, test run the furnace with no pipes. If the furnace
runs then you have a problem with the installation of the vent pipes.

4) Do not run the furnace without the exhaust pipe disconnected,
go to the hardware store and get a couple of rubber clamped
couplings and hook-up the exhaust pipe!

Good Luck

Goodman GDT070 furnace pressure swich problem.

Inspect both the intake and exhaust pipes for blockage or debris. Inspect the small tubes that go from your combustion fan to the pressure switch and the tube that goes from the fan to the condensate drain. They all should be clean and dry. Inspect the combustion fan to see if it spins without it scraping on the housing or it may be filled with water or debris. Last, check the air filter and clean or replace.
