Photo paper doesn't feed correctly

What about the normal 80g office paper? If also bends and jams in the printer, I think it is a mechanical problem. Check the paper path for foreign objects. It is very easy for common office objects to fall there. Also they are not vizible when fallen in the printer. Try to turn the printer upside down to let the object to fall out. Help it with some flat scredriver to release the paper pressure shafts which springs may hold the object inside

The paper will not feed properly into my mx320 canon printer. It pulls the paper in on the left side but not the right side. I can see no paper stuck anywhere on the rollers. I have removed and replaced...

The mX320 being a rear sheet feeder model can suffer the problem of something falling into the feeder and causing the paper to jam on entry.
To find what has fallen in your will need to gently pull back the fed paper and look at its leading edge. This will show a heavy "Nick" in the edge. observe where the nick is in relation to where the paper is fed and that will indicate where the obstruction is in the feeder. Use a bent paper clip (L shaped) and see if you can feel and dislodge the culprit. Remove the ink cartridges and turn the machine upside down and give it a good shake. hopefull the drawing pin/paper clip/notice board pin will fall out and the world will be at peace once more.

Good luck.

When paper is fed into the sheet feeder it jammes

Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Paper feed not straight, causing jambing

You need to look inside the slot where the paper is loaded with a flashlight and small mirror. Usually the only reason that happens is when something has fallen in where the paper goes. I usually find pins, paper clips, candy wrappers, or jewelry dropped inside. A paper clip straightened out can help remove the objects.

My printer won't use regular paper

If there is nothing extra inside, like paper clips, candy, push pins, the roller that feeds the paper may be broken. Feel the rubber roller in the back that pulls paper in, if it flops up and down at all the end may be broken off and a dealer would need to replace it. Look real close with a flashlight and small mirror and see if something has fallen in where the paper goes.

I have a canon pixma mp180. some little plastic pieces fell into the paper feed. I pulled what i could see out but now the paper jams when being fed. I did the maintenance roller cleaning. I was wondering...

I kept running the maintenance roller cleaning with paper in the feed and eventually I was able to see the tip of the plastic piece that had fallen in as I pulled the paper through with my fingers, I was able to get the whole piece and now the printer is golden.

Epson Stylus Photo R320

I had a printer come in for repair for pretty much the same problem, a bit of chalk had fallen in were the paper goes and got fed through under the exit rollers

Not too sure on the R 320 but on a lot of the Epson printers the exit rollers are spring loaded - the are the little rollers just before the head - Have a look and see if you can spot anything, esp in the area were your mark is, if you cannot see anything, does the area look a bit raised?

If there is something there, what you can try is tilt the printer back so to paper in part is near the floor, then try and lift the exit rollers up a bit and hope that the object will drop out the back - be very careful lifting the rollers

Black back media

Hi Daniel,

This occurs because of the light sensor perper out sensor. A quick fix is locate the sensor on the left hand side of the paper path and then temporarily tape a piece of white paper over it. You just need to make sure that you keep an eye on the printer as it will not report paper out, now.
