I have tried installing 3 different web cams. For each installation and setup, of which i am informed is complete, the only parts installing are the Logitech Quick Cam, and the Logitech Quick Cam Driver. There is no messenger for configuring even though i am informed setup and installation are complete. I try to run it and it says reboot is necessary, did that and still there is nothing to jump for joy about. Sorry if i am repeating myself, it's to make up for the THREE cameras not installing properly. Oh btw, i downloaded the latest updates from logitech even though i just bought the cameras in the last month.

I found the solution the drivers on the disc buy shipped are not the right drivers. NOR are the newest ones on Logitech's site. Uninstall them and use this instead:

Try updating the drivers to your web cam device. If that does not work out try finding more information, if you find error numbers or error messages you can identify the problem a little better. If you are using the software that came pre-installed for the web cam you can also try to download a different program that is integrated for all different webcams, such as ManyCam.
I have found a link to the driver file for CAM IV. Click here for the download.
The download is a 16 MB zip file. Extract it contents on the desktop. There will be two files: CamIVxp.zip and driver updater. Delete driver updater and extract CamIVxp. Double click on Setup and wait for it to install the drivers. Connect your cam after the install completes.
If you are using Vista, and the setup does not run, try compatibility mode and remember that setup can only be run after the files are extracted and cannot be run from within the zip file.
Try to install first the driver of the cam which is in your cd/dvd driver. during the setup process, there's a step that ask you to connect the hardware which is a cam and then plug the cam and continue setup, after finishing installation, restart the computer then that's the time your cam recognized, then continue little remaining setup to finally complete the installation.
Insert the cd into CD rom and then double clcik on setup.exe file.
Run the setup.exe without attach your webcam and when software require to attach then you should attach the cam and do complete the installation.
Try copying the files on the disc to a folder and run them from there. Open the folder you saved the files in then double click the setup.exe icon and see if it completes the installation. If that does not work then try downloading the files from the radio shack web site.
If the Web cam was Generic, or even Brand name, and it came with a Drivers disc (this would mean that it is not plug and play), try completely uninstalling the Driver software for the web cam. After the uninstall has finished, reinstall the drivers, taking extra care to follow ALL on screen instructions to the T. If at some point there were other web cams, and the drivers that belonged to those cams installed on the computer, be sure to fully uninstall all of them. Only use the cam and the drivers that you are attempting to install. After all of that, the cam should work just fine.
If for some reason the cam does not work after reinstalling the drivers, try a different brand of web cam. The computer that the drivers are attempting to operate on may not be adequate to support those drivers. If that's the case, try a generic, cheaper web cam as I said.
Also: While powering up the cam, don't run anything unnecessary.
1. Download this file. 2. Unplug your camera from computer. 3. Extract the file using WinRAR. 4. Open the extracted files and launch setup. 5. Follow the on-screen instructions. 6. After installation is finished, plug-in your camera to the USB. 7. The device should be detected automatically.
Make sure the IBM PC/Net Camera is unplugged from the computer before installing this software.
Click [YES] to continue, the exe will then extract setup files to c:\\setup folder.
Go to C:\\setup folder, you will find Setup.exe there, double-click to run it.
