Your problem is likely due to weak/worn out batteries or corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera and give them a full charge (assuming that you are using rechargeable batteriesWhen i turn my camera on, it goes off in like 5 - 2_bing.gif). This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, your batteries may need to be replaced or the camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

Sony kv32fs100 Keeps shutting on and off w/ sound no pic, then cuts itself back on again. red light flashes 5 times.

AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly.
5 blinks denotes this. If you wish to get more details about the blinking codes to Sony TVs, check this site.http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

When using the flash is takes 4/5 seconds before I can take another picture. The taken photo appears for about 1 second then the screen goes black for 4/5 seconds before I can take another picture

Friend,

You are using a 10 MP camera. Imagine the size of the picture taken. It is massive. And so would the size in megabytes. To save those many MBs is a time consuming affair. that is what takes 4 to 5 seconds. And during that time the camera can do nothing else.

Do not worry. The camera is fine. Just that you have a very good camera and do not realize it.

As regards the photo being visible for a second only, you can change the settings and have the picture on display for a longer duration. That would be fine as while you are viewing the pic, the camera is busy saving the pic file. You would not feel those 4 to 5 seconds at all.

My camera will turn on and the lens just goes in and out, i can't take a pic, i can view my pics though. The screen just says access.

Copy all your pics from the camera to a computer or your card, take the card out and use the camera's menu to format the camera or reset it, see if that helps.

Good luck

Camera turns on with a bit of a tremble but shutter locks

I have an 5D with the same problem, It looks like the Anti shake does not initialize properly, The only bypass I found that worked (except for a real repair) is to set the display light timeout for 5 seconds, The standby timout for 1 minute, Turn the camera off, and on again, Wait for 5 sec then the display goes blank, wait for 1 minute then the camera goes in standby, (light from CF card flashed red 1 time) Then touch any button to re-activate the camera and... voila... everything works, including taking normal pictures and the anti-shake !!! So it only takes a minute everytime to startup..

Guest is quite right - use the macro button on left hand side of lens (holding camera pointing at subject) Press once for "macro" which focuses from 10cm away. If you hold this button in for about 2 seconds, it puts your camera into "supermacro" mode, which gives focus from right up against the lens! (need backlighting for this close!) Supermacro will not work in Auto and Sport mode. Best is to use "AV" or "TV"

As far as viewing your pics goes - rotate the mode lever (You turn this anti-clockwise to turn ON) clockwise and you will see the most recent pic on your LCD screen. Use the left and right direction on the omni selector to naviagate through your pics.

Its a good idea to download the advanced manual onto your pc from the dic supplied. Its an adobe document and very user-friendly.

I hope this helps you.... :)

Stuck on standby

The sliding button above the LCD display has three settings. You need to slide the button to the right, A camera icon for taking pictures, a movie camera in the middle and the green arrow on the left to view pictures and movies taken

Camera shuts down when I go to take pic mode

Ahhhhh! I have the same problem occuring!! I cleaned all of the battery terminals and replaced the batteries, and STILL have this problem, although not as frequent. It always happens when I take the best pics, the image shows on the screen for a fraction of a second, and then the whole camera shuts off. Again, I can play back images with no problem. What's the deal here?? It's become so frustrating that I just want to throw the camera in the garbage. It has been such a good camera up until this point. PLEASE, someone help us here!!!
