Try this driver from GE. Here is the GE support/download page.

Mouse and adapter not comunicaitin

On the bottom of the mouse should be a reset switch. This will change the frequency that the mouse communicates to the USB plug on, and should get it working again unless there are driver issues.

If it is a driver issue, you can go here, and you should be able to map the SKU number to the driver.

How do i open the battery compartment on ge wireless optical mini mouse 98792

The mouse requires 2 AAA batteries.

The piece of plastic on both sides of the embedded dongle, where your palm would rest on the mouse, is the compartment for the batteries. You need to slide the piece of plastic away from the direction of the mouse buttons. You will then be able to put the batteries inside and slip the piece of plastic back on.

1) Simply grip the sides of the mouse and slide the battery cover
2) Replace the old batteries with two AAA batteries
3) Replace the battery cover

As far as I understand there isn't. When not in use I believe they just "go to sleep".

Battery change for model 98792 wireless GE mouse

Normal 0 If the mouse doesn't have a little door to open on the bottom, then try this. Just behind the Left and Right keys where your hand rests, apply firm pressure down on the cover and slide to the rear. Some mouse manufactures have used this type of access to replace the batteries.
Hope this helps. Bud

Change batteries

This is a deceptive little beastie. As you look at the mouse, you will see that the front approximately 1/3 consists of the left and right mouse buttons and the scroll wheel. The rest appears to be a one piece cover with the black area with the GE logo in the middle. There's the tricky part. The black part with the Logo is the housing for the USB plug in part (so you can keep it with the mouse when transporting it). The rest of that (silver on my mouse) is the battery cover. You open it up by gripping the little raised line on each side of the cover and pull backwards while holding the front by the black area under the mouse buttons. The cover (only the silver part, the black is attached to the rest of the mouse) will slide backwards and Voila! There are your batteries.
