I FOUND A SIDEKICK 3 AND CANT GET THE PASSWORD, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Let me start by saying I'm not an expert, but after going through a lot of gyrations I came up with a solution that worked for me. I'm sharing it here because I haven't seen a complete concise answer anywhere.
The activation problem with Sidekick Slides is common. Most of the time, people buy a Slide without realizing that you have to purchase a "sidekick plan" from T-Mobile to get it fully activated. These phones were build especially for T-Mobile, so they're designed so that you have to have a Sidekick rate plan first to get the phone activated. By the way, this applies to a new phone as well as a phone that's been activated before, but has been 'hard reset" (where you hold the R button while re-booting.. My advice, DON'T DO THIS! Because you have to re-activate the phone.
However, there's good news for all you non-T-mobile folks who bought a Slide on eBay (or from a friend etc.) only to find it needs activation. Here's the solution. If you search eBay for "sidekick activation" you can find folks selling prepaid activation kits for around $15. They include a sim card and about $10 worth of sidekick prepaid services. Buy the kit, install the sim, and go online to register your phone (registering by phone is a pain with T-Mobile). Online you have 3 plan choices: Pay By The Day, Pay As You Go, and Sidekick. Pick Sidekick, and then provide the requested registration information. When done, your phone should be ready to go and should activate within about 5 - 10 minutes. You'll be charged $1 a day and airtime for calls, so it's not cheap, but at least the phone won't go to the activation screen when you startup.
The next question is, how to unlock the phone for other networks? IF it's not unlocked you will be prompted for special code (this is different than the user-defined password that simply locks the phone against unauthorized users). It won't work on other networks until it's truly unlocked. Again, the trusty folks at eBay can help. I searched for Sidekick Slide Unlock Codes and found numerous vendors, ranging from $6 to $12, who provide permanent unlock codes for Slides. I found on that provides the code via email (others want to mail it to you) and got my code within 30 minutes. So now I can remove the T-mobile sim and put my ATT (or other) sim in and go. I should mention that some of the Sidekick features ONLY work if you have a sidekick plan, but that's T-Mobile's and Danger's devious attempt to make us miserable. Good Luck! Hope this helps! Rick

you will need to get a UNLOCKED sidekick. otherwise, you cant.
[that is if you got a sidekick that is restricted with tmobile network only]

however, there is actually have some unlock code that can able
to un-locked it but you wont be able to use anything on it
especially only make a phone call and use txt and thats basic it.

unlock code thing can be found on ebay.

the sidekick 3 cnt send pics to other phones so u would have to have email to send them to aslo u cnt recive them ehtier i dnt know y

Three obvious options

1. call your network provider (ask if they can provide you with the password) or
2. contact the person who sold this to you (if they cannot provide the password report them on ebay)
3. take it to a phone shop that can unlock it (easiest option)

you have to have internett or tmobile wont let you im tryinq to find out how to do it too becuase i have unlimited textinq but you must have thee internett

1.your sim needs a password 
2.turn off ur sidekick 3 
3.place ur cingular card in 
4.turn on sidekick 3
5.itz gunna ask you for a special code ignore it
6. go to settings den sim center 
7. if ur sim lock is disabled jus enable it 
8.den change ur sin pin to wateva you want
9.once u change it you will signals bars go up
10.go 2 settings network options 
11. press scan scan select manually 
12. select ur network 
13. and datz it your sim iz workin on sidekick 3

if u turn it off u will have 2 do da same process again
this will work with all sidekicks

You will need to replace the LCD Screen. It is really easy to do and new one costs about 35 dollars on ebay.

take the phones and have the LCD or flexcbale replaced

ok the way to do it this jus lets u use text and calls i got cingular and i used my sidekick to txt and call here wat u gotta do

1. out sim card in
2. start phone
it will tell u sim card locked it needs special code(the code u get to pay for) juys exit outta that get to the main menu
3.hit the top letf menu button and go all the way down to sim center if u dont allready have a sim pin then enter a new one if u have one change it then ur phone should go from the big X to some bars and a hollow phone icon after you do that hit the menu button again and go to network options then go down and hit (SCAN AND SELECT MANULLY) then chose what ever carrier you have i have at&t so i chose it after a few seconds the hollowed out phone icone should be colored in and u can now text and call

Downloading songs(mp3) to your sidekick is very simple. Connect the phone to your PC or insert your memory card. Open My Computer, open SDCard or Removable Disk, Open My Music and simply drag and drop the music files ih that folder.


To register....

1. Have your phone (Sidekick or otherwise) with you
2. Visit my.t-mobile.com
3. Click "Register for My T-Mobile"
4. Enter your 10-digit mobile number without spaces (e.g. 5557771234) and click "Submit"
5. Your phone will get a text message with your password. It will be something like ar1wo6 and it is CaSe sEnSiTiVe!
6. Log in using your mobile number and temporary password
7. Fill in the information the page asks (note: you will be asked to provide a new password, and if you are using a Sidekick, this will also change your Sidekick login password)
8. Select your phone from the list if prompted
