Sir windows NT does no provide a factory settings... best solution is to overwrite the OS with the same OS... to do so first backups your files and check for some restoration points on your system restore settings....

click the window button, press all programs then accessories then system tools...

if there is an oldest restore point choose it..

after restoring your system to the oldest settings... put the OS cd and let it autorun...

choose the overwrite the present OS or something like that... after reinstalling you will see all default settings and programs back where you want them.

Restore and recovery
The restore and recovery features allow you to restore or recover the system
from a factory default image, from a user created image, or from previously
created CD and DVD backups. You can also reinstall applications and drivers for
your Acer system.
1 Press <Alt> + <F10> or select Acer eRecovery Management from the
Empowering Technology toolbar to start Acer eRecovery Management.
2 Switch to the restore and recovery page by selecting the Restore button.
3 Select the backup point you would like to restore from. You can also
choose to recover the system from a factory default image, recover from a
previously created CD/DVD or reinstall applications and drivers.
4 Follow the instructions on screen to complete the process

Hello how do i restore my acer aspire 5332 laptop to factory settings

Unlike other laptops, Acer laptops integrate a computer management utility called 'Acer eRecovery Management' to create backup of hard drive data, create restore point, reinstall applications & drivers, and reset Acer laptop to factory setting.

Step 1: Before starting your Acer laptop, ensure that there is no external storage device attached to it. Now start your laptop.

Step 2: Press 'Alt + F10' when the laptop starts booting, and wait for a moment while Windows loads the reset files.

Step 3: When 'Acer eRecovery Management' window appears, select 'Restore System from factory default' and click 'Next' to continue.

Step 4: Again click 'Next' to reset your Acer laptop. This process will erase all data from your hard disk and reset your Acer laptop to original factory settings.

Step 5: Click 'OK' in the notification window to begin the the resetting operation. Now wait while your Acer laptop is reset to factory settings.

Tips: You can also create a backup copy of your laptop data before factory reset. Simply click 'Backup' in 'Acer eRecovery Management' window.

I have a packard bell imedia mc 1538 and need to resore to factory settings, have tried using F10 key with no result just goes to start up. The master cd just does a system restore and not the factory...

If the file that holds the factory settings is gone then there is no way to restore the factory settings back. You can however reinstall windows if you got a hold of a windows disc in the version you want. You can use the windows key on the computer somewhere to activate the windows. I would suggest doing a system restore the the last restore point and removing any unwanted things from there.

I brought a new toshiba windows 7 satellite laptop 2 days ago and have forgotten the password!!!!!!please help??

you can attempt to try a password removal with the "offline nt password & registry editor" search for it. This can also damage your SAM security file so i would advise taking this to a certified service center. The other option is to restore the PC to factory settings.

search google for "offline nt password & registry editor" for the editor if you want to give it a try. It is also part of the "Ultimate Boot CD"

Restore factory settings on a Dell Latitude C510

Get a USB CD drive, insert a winXP pro tablet CD, go into bios and tell it to boot from USB device, turn off, attach the USB drive and fire it up. That should reformat and once you get Winxp working you should be able to get the necessary drivers from the Dell web site. Tech suppt at Dell may sell you a disc for the machine that will restore the factory image, just ask. I got new ones from HP for $10.72 total incl postage! 3 to 5 days, what a deal!
Any decent tech should be able to reinstall everything you need for less that $50.00, but you will lose all data on the drive. Who else knows or remembers the login?
