Will not boot - no power

I have a LM7WZ that will not power up at all. Bought new power supply but cannot even get a power light on the laptop. Any ideas?

Stated in original post - NEW power supply used, it shows to be working - no power to the laptop. Battery is presumed dead because has been at least a month since possibly being charged, probably longer. Any one else had this problem and if so, what was the fix? Thanks.

If it can't power on when using the adapter probably try a new adapter... if it runs on battery the problem if in the adapter but if you cant run it on both power options you got a problem inside your unit... let a technician see you unit about power problems...

Everex lm7w will not power on no lights

Are you using the right charger for that laptop?
a: if so them discard question
b: if not there are chances that you busted the mobo or that the charger doesn't have enough volts to power the machine.

other possible reasons the ac jack is bad, it happens occasionally even so is not that common, or you have a bad motherboard (mobo) if that is the case you will need to replace the mobo, good thing they can be bought for cheap at E-Bay's or Amazon.

I don't see other cause since there is only power on the ac adapter and not on the machine.

Does cq61 laptop works without battery

I would assume that the wire/power supply is more likely to be the problem. Even if the battery is completely shot, most laptops will start if the power cord is plugged into the outlet and the laptop is turned on. You should check on replacing the power supply / power cord. Buy it from a store that takes returns with no questions asked. I've even bought one, tested it in the store, (after asking in advance if I could do so). This is a good idea if you live 40 miles from the place it's purchased.

Acer Ferrari shuts down

This sounds like a shorted power supply or even worse the motherboard, or processor. There might be parts that are still damp let it dry out longer you could try a hair dryer on a low setting before taking it to a repair shop.

Won't turn on at all

If he chewed far enough into the cord that it shorted out, then the power supply would have been killed instantly, but not before taking out the motherboard on the laptop with it.

The motherboards for laptops are rediculously expensive and a new laptop would be the way to go.

The next best option is to hunt around on eBay and look for one that has been dropped and had the screen smashed. You could salvage the motherboard from it, or transfer your screen the other way.
The good news is, people will pay good money for dead laptops on eBay for that very reason, so you could always sell yours there to help cover the costs of a new laptop.
Sorry for the bad news
