I found one through Powerpayless.com at http://www.powerpayless.com/ac-dc-power-adapter-for-protron-pltv-32-pltv32-lcd-tv.html. It works great!

What ever you use, it must be REGULATED power supply that will maintain 14vdc output, rating at 3A. These regulated power supply can easily maintain the output voltage within +/- 5% with input AC voltage range from 100~240vac.
Linear regulator power supply may not work since it has slow response time to regulate the voltage.

Or www.digikey.com, just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current and long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.

As a workaround, simply get yourself a switchmode power supply that has the spec's 19 V DC @ 3 Amps, now, carefully cut of the end of the "Old" Power Jack, and the end off the "New" power jack, and Join up the wires, usually the "Inner" one is Positive, +, and the "Outer", or shield, is Usually negative, -, If you have a meter this should be used to check, connections. Otherwise just ensure you are correct. That should get you going, even if you cannot find an original, in fact, you may even find, that the PSU, you get has "Multi-way" changeable ends.

what makes you think the ac park is ok
19vdc measured with a voltmeter proves this , only.
a 2005 (as old as) Laptop
its not new, things this old do fail.
Laptops are like dog years.. 7:1. so yours is 84years old
to fix a desktop is super easy
to test a laptop takes greater skills, the take down. is tricky
we take out the battery,
the the pack just make the fan run in the PC
does it>? if not the pack is bad.
or the MOBO regs are shut down. (shorts on any thing inside
some times the 19vdc is ok, at that pack
then 1 inches inside the PC its dead due to that silly power jack loves to fail. but not taking the thing down and testing that
its all just a guessing game...
the only insight there is on electronics, is power first.
no power, no joy.
test the power feeds first.

If you're looking for a generic ac adapter, the specs of mine are: 19vdc @ 200mA, NEGATIVE polarity.
Important...the center pin is NEGATIVE (most center pins are positive).

Any power supply providing 19V DC at 3 Amp with a positive tip connector will do.
