Do a search on the internet for the software to open .enc file extensions, download and instal the software then click on that file and you should be able to open it then.

ip of router needs to have same subnet mask and default gateway as pc, ip needs to be in range ie all digits the same except last

Most routers have a self set up wizard, run it.

type ipconfig at a dos prompt what is Ip, sunnet and gateway?

Looks like your ip of your pc is set to the same as your router

Router ip should be something like 24.71.232.1

and your pc needs to be 24.71.232.2 ie last digit must be different.

as for the driver one doesn't run the file one goes to control panel/ device manager/router and updates the driver and point to downloaded file, but I think you problem is ip address

Can not remember my network security code

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. If you need your Security Key (Passphrase) we can access the Wireless Settings Page of the router to obtain the information needed.

To access the router page you need a working computer that is connected to the router. To access the router page just open a browser then type 192.168.11.1, the Default username is root password is blank

Go to wireless settings page and look for the Network Key. You can personalize the Network Key if you want.

Incase the username is not accepted you can reset the router by pressing the reset button at the back of it using a pen or paperclip for 5-10 seconds.

If you have questions just let me know. Thanks for using Fixya

I've had a new laptop but require my security key, model WBMR-G54 to access the security enabled network, from my old laptop.

If you've forgotten the wireless security key you entered when you set up the router you can reset it by connecting to the router directly with an ethernet cable instead of the wi-fi. Plug a cable into the router and then laptop and access the setup page for the router. See the manual (or download one from the buffalo site) for setup instructions.

Can i hook up my laptop to nintendo wifi

Nintendo's wireless connection will only support WEP security. So before connecting it wirelessly, check your wireless router/wireless access point and make sure that IF it has a wireless security configured on it, it's on WEP. So the wireless security should either be Disabled or at WEP. You can check these options on the router's Web UI. If you have a Linksys router, I could help you with it.

Now connecting your Nintendo DS:

Just check it out here.

Or follow these steps:

1. Setup Screen > tap "Nintendo Wi-Fi Settings".
2. Select a "Connection slot".
3. Tap "Search for an Access Point. (This will open a list of wireless networks detected.)
4. Select your network (or any network you want to connect to) and connect to it. It will ask your for the network key or WEP key if you have it setup on the router.

WRT54G, unable to install router

  • Since you have Internet connectivity through the router using a direct connection to the router, then you just need to access the router's setup page and re-configure wireless.
  • But first, check if the wireless light is on in the router.
  • Then, using a computer that is wired to the router, launch IE and type 192.168.1.1 on the address field.
  • It will then ask for the password. By default it is admin. Just click ok and it will lead you to the setup page of the router.
  • Then, on the menu click Wireless. Look for wireless network name or SSID. That is the name of your wireless network. By default it is set to "linksys". You may change it to a uniqune name and then save the settings.
  • Then, if you want to enable security in your Wireless network, click on Wireless Security.
  • Set security mode to WPA Personal and create your network key. It should be atleast 8 characters.
Hope this helps!

Setup security

To set up a network key (password to access the network), follow these steps:

Open your browser and go to 192.168.0.1
Depending on your router's model number, the username/password combination will be different. Try admin/(blank), admin/admin, or user/(blank), where (blank) is not putting in a password at all.

If you look through the tabs and option pages, you will see a section for WEP or Network Key. A 64-bit WEP key is enough, you do not need a 128-WEP or a WPA key.

Make sure you apply the settings before closing the page.
