First look through the binoculars backwards keeping your face about a foot behind them. If you notice any fogginess as you look through then they will need to be taken to a service centre for repair. Your local camera shop may know of a repairman. I can advise for Australia, but not so much for the USA of Britain. In USA the one company I am aware of is Captain's Nautical Supplies in Seattle.

zeiss is clearly one of the best optical instruments made. if you play with it you will only harm it. some old zeiss were sealed with black wax and have to be heated to get apart. wish you could repair it but it's impossible without traing in the repair field...g.l. larry@reichinstruments
Don't "unscrew" the binoculars. there are no user servicable parts inside. the collimnation adj screws are beneath the rubber boot just under where your index fingers rest when looking through the bino's. use a jewelers screwdriver to tease the boot up and stick a small nut or something in. then put the binos on a stable surface and play with the screws a bit while watching the images. you can get them pretty close this way.
There are no recorded serial numbers for Zeiss binoculars made in West Germany or those made by Zeiss after the fall of the berlin wall. The newer numbers have been a mystery to collectors and so far no one has attempted to publish a list. I have newer models with lower serial numbers than older models in my collection.
Unfortunately if they are out of alignment you need to take them to a service center. It can't really be fixed at home without a device known as a collimator. Binoculars can fall out of collimation if they have been knocked or dropped. Jenoptems were made by the defunct East German Carl Zeiss Jena. Zeiss was split in two after WW2 with Jena being on the east. The current Zeiss firm is the West German company. Zeiss Jena ceased to be after the fall of the Berlin Wall. It is unlikely that the current firm would fix these for you. If they did the price would be greater than several pairs of Jenoptems.
Before you do take them check to see if they have a seven digit serial number. If it is six digits they are fake Jenoptems. There were many fake Jenoptems sold in the eighties by UK dealers. There is even a myth that they were made under licence in Japan. A myth is all that information is. There is no documentation to substantiate this and was probably spread by sellers trying to legitimise an inferior product.
Have you been able to work with your creative notebook web cam in any other function on your Mac Powerbook G4? Probably not. PC cameras are not usually interchangeable with Mac Cameras for what should be obvious reasons of platform, chipset, OS and IO diversity.

if collimation of binoculars is out ,you would certainly want to use a collimator to fix it,only repair shops have them, and to mess with a nice glass like the zeiss doesnt make sense if you want i can look at them and sed you an estimate......l.reich........................www.reichinstruments.com
