I have flashing colors on my screen, first a red screen then a blue and then green. Sometimes black and white and rolling like the old tvs when the horizontal hold was out. Sound is good. When I select picture in picture The small picture plays beautiful. but the large pic. is still out. has anyone experienced this type of problem. I have some electronics background. Can I fix this? What do I need to fix it?

This sounds like a problem with the component video connection (the red/green/blue cable; sometimes labeled Y,Pb,Pr). You can get a pink screen if the Green (Y) or the Blue (Pb) aren't plugged in correctly. Recheck those first.
Good day! the problem you have posted indicates that the 2 color cathode of your tv is not functioning, it's either that the driver transistor of the red and blue cathode is defective or the crt socket. or maybe the solder point in the crt board needs resoldering. check for some loose connections.
It would all depend on what type of cable you are useing to connect the dvd to the tv.With component cables if you have the blue input in the red or any of the three colors mixed up then it could cause a black n white picture also if you place normal a/v cables into the component slot then you also might get black n white have seen alot of people put the yellow cord into the green female slot of the component input of the tv instead of the video in slot. If you have HDMI an a blu ray make sure you got a high speed cable with at least a rate of 10.2 Gbps or faster should not result in black n white but you will not get the picture clarity u should be getting an it also may cause screen blur or drag on fast moving pictures
the problem is in the pcb ner the crt socket.there are three tda6111 ic one for each color(red green blue)try to change the red ic and some resistances there!if you dont have experiance try alocl samsung authorized center!is a routine repair!
Three guns Red Blue and Green in the picture tube of an old CRT set. If one of the guns goes out it effects that color. Sounds like one of the guns inside of the tube is going out, To costly to replace for such an old antilog set that will have to have a convertor box next month anyway.
yes! the problem is in the CRT board the RGB colors! you have lost of blue and red! thats why your unit is green! and only green is worked the blue and red is not work! maybe you have lost contact of them! resolder all CRT board to comeback the normal picture!
