Sony Wega 50 inch LCD

I have a blue tint expanding from the bottom middle of the screen and now also in the lower right hand corner? Can this be fixed by a remote repairman coming to my house or do I need to send the tv somewhere for repairs.

    I have the same issue. I have a 42" Sony Wega LCD and it has a blur spot in the bottom-middle and right hand corner of the screen. It makes things look blue or pink depend on background color. It started small, but has gotten larger. Now, it is roughly 12" wide and 4" high in the center.



    I bought the tv in summer of 04, and the extended warranty I purchased from the retailer is expired.



    Any suggestion?

    My Sony 50' Wega has the same blue haze in the botton right cornor that is starting to move across the bottom of the screen. Also no getting the small blue dots pop up across the whole screen every once and a while.

    I have the same problem, Started in bottom right corner. Now it's creeping arcross the bottom and has a few blue dots apearing. Great TV up to this point.
    It's a Mdl# - KDF-50WE655
    S/N# - 9000468
    Mnfg date Sept. 2004 LA3

    Did you say there was an extended warranty for this problem? If not, I'm pretty technical, is there somewhere I could get this part?

I also have a Sony Wega 50 inch LCD, once turned on the screed stays completly black however, the green light comes on. Anyone else had this problems or knows if it can be repaired or not?

The unit has a bad optics block and depending on the model # this unit is probably covered under the extended warranty being offered by Sony. You will need an authorized Sony service center to facilitate this repair for you. Get me the model # and will provide the part # and if it is an extended warranty unit.

catually is problum is related with blue lcd & blue polizer but first you clean the optical unit if the problum gon then ok other wise must chang blue lcd & blue polorize with uv filter plese contect to your nearst sony service centre

Uh Oh! blue screen of death. Your light engine has warped a little from overheating and is distorting the picture.

My suggestion to you is to get on the phone with Sony and start complaining, then keep complaining until they agree to pay for it. Even if it is out of warranty.
You may have to get the problem diagnosed by a pro before they agree to pay for it though.
