My samsung scx 4100 series printer showing open heat error.....what can i do for this error

Hello,
this is a fuser problem. Maybe lamp is broken or heat sensor didnt work properly.
You can fix it whit repalcing fuser module or replacing broken parts (cheaper way).
Just visit authorized service - my advice!

Open heat error

this means the fuser isnt heating up or sometimes that the printer doesnt sense it heating up, to work out which one applys to you leave it turned on for a few minutes and feel the rear vent, if it is warm then the fuser is good and the sensor is faulty, if its not then the fuser lamp needs replacing, either isnt usually a "user servicable part". get the best idea of the exact issue and approach a repair shop or samsung service provider. if its under warranty contact samsung. if its not get a quote if its more than you think its worth sell the printer with this fault described.

Error - See your documentation and call service if necessary.

I would like to help you but you do not give enough info. What does the error message say?? What doesn't or does your printer do?? Overriding a message DOES NOT fix the problem.

Open heat error

Open heat error is a fuser error. If you have plenty of clearance around the printer and you are still getting this error, it is the fuser.

Open heat error

From looking at the manual it looks as if you have a faulty thermistor. When warming up, it has to heat up to at least 60 degrees. If it stays lower then 60 degrees celsius for over 35 seconds and doesn't reach 60 within that time frame then that would cause the open heat error that is happening on your machine.

My Samsung CLX-2160N is telling me it has a "Low Heat Error, Cycle Power" ... but when I cycle the power it does not fix the issue. What can I do to fix this? John nyinker@hotmail.com

I do believe that the low heat error is talking about having low heat at the paper fuser (the part of the printer that makes the writing stick to the paper). This can either be caused by a bad fuser or by a bad controller board that is connected to the fuser. There is not much that you the user can do to fix this problem. I would take the printer to an authorized repair center in your area.
