When I plug my iPod into my car stereo, it's a Kenwood KDC-W3041, sound only comes out of the speakers in one door, but when I play a CD, sound comes from speakers in both doors. What's wrong?

If your using the aux plug in the front make sure the plug is fully inserted into the ipod and the stereo. then make sure all audio settings are set correctly. If you are using any other type of connection for your ipod ensure the connection is not loose.

How do you hook up an i-pod to a KDC-135 AND HEAR IT?

You will need a 3.5mm mini to mini cable (available at any good car audio store for between $10-20. Plug that into the headphone jack on your ipod and then into the aux input on your stereo. Then select aux-in as the source on your Kenwood. Now play the music on your ipod at about 3/4 volume on the iPod.

I have a kenwood KDC-MP438U stereo. Ipod error.

Hi If anything the stereo was probably designed and tested using a certain version of the Iphones software, now that version 4 has been released the way the IPhone communicates may have changed.

As a result the stereo is no longer able to talk to the phone and vice versa. your probably best off contacting Kenwood direct to see if they are aware of this problem and if there is anything that can be done about it.

Kenwood kdc-w3041 protect mode

Hello ia737,

The "protect" display is probably being caused by a shorted or grounded (touching vehicle chassis or other ground) speaker wire. Check the speaker wires for bare spots, etc and insulate or replace as necessary.

You do not need to remove the fuses to force a "cold reset" of the W-3041. You can simply press the "reset" button on the front of the unit. It's the little recessed button at the lower left of the volume control. Use the straightened end of a paper clip or ballpoint pen to momentarily hold the button in.

Hope this helps.

No Sound - boat stereo

Assuming that the four speakers are connected to the amplifier, then the amp is the most likely problem component. Does the amplifier show a power light when the system is turned on? Note that there is probably another fuse in the amplifier power wire, near the battery.
