When i press control f11 to restore my computer it does'nt respond do anybody have any other option for me?

Did this computer come with a recovery disc(s) or is F11 your only option for recovery?

If you didn't get a disc then you probably have a recovery partition on your hard drive. If this is the case there is a good chance your hard drive is failing or has failed. This would also wreck your recovery partition. Your best bet would be to replace the hard drive and order a recovery disc set from Dell. They cost anywhere from $15-40 and you can order them on their site or call them.

My Dell Dimension 5100 desktop wont boot up, it starts the DELL sequence but then messages with F1 reboot or F2 setup Utility. I have recently had to revert my pc back to factory settings and restore...

It does sound there is a problem with the hard drive. However if you hit F12 at boot you will get an option to run the system diag on the computer. Let me know the error you get and I can tell you where the problem is.

May I know whether the Hard Drive is listed in the BIOS? Try reinstalling the Windows using the Windows OS disc.

Laptop will not start,

looks as though your hard drive is u/s Try and see if it is visible in the bios pages, if not replace it. Bios being, when you switch on you press f2, or ctl-alt.del or just del key. This puts you into the BIOS which tells the computer what it can and cannot do. The 1st page should have your hard drive listed, if not then replace it.

Can i restore my ibm x30 back to factory settings

Yes.

One way: take the "System Restore" set of CD-ROMs that were originally shipped with the computer, and boot from the first CD.

If you have lost those CDs, there may be a "recovery partition" on the disk-drive -- when you turn the computer on, look for a "Press F11 to enter Product Recovery" prompt. Press F11.

Contact IBM. For about $60, they will ship a replacement set of those "System Restore" CD-ROMs to you.

Acerpowerfh keeps turning on and off rebooting why?

it does sound like a boot virus problem. you need to boot into system restore. to boot from the restore partition you need to switch on your pc and repeatedly press either F10, F11, Alt+F10, or Alt+F11. you do this until you see the system restore starts. you will be able to fix windows, or you can do a desturctive restore and restore your pc back to factory settings, but you'll loose your photos and anything saved on the hard drive.

Factory restore with zd8000

If you press F11 and you have the restore partition on the hard drive, you don't need the disks. All the information that was there from the factory will be on the partition.

Wipe Hard drive without operating disks

Get in touch with your PCs manufacturer to get fresh set of disks (you can also download them from your mfg website), or check if it has a Utility Partition (usually press F10, F11 or F12 while booting up).
