And so when you get that particular "cage" off of the old motor, does that mean it will fit on the new shaft?, and the new motor shaft has a cammed shaft with a threaded end? This should have been in the ask section.

If your trying to change the squirrel cage of the blower motor,
in the center of the cage,where the motor shaft comes up thru it,there is a pinch clip that you need to squeeze together and pull off,then pull cage of shaft

Removal
  1. Remove the glove compartment liner to gain access to the heater blower motor and blower motor wheel assembly mounting screws.
  1. Use a small screwdriver to remove clip retaining hydraulic damper strut.
  1. Remove four screws and remove the heater blower motor assembly and blower motor wheel assembly from the heater blower motor housing.
Installation
  1. Using a new seal, position the heater blower motor and blower motor wheel assembly to the heater blower motor housing with the flat side of the flange near the heater blower motor switch resistor (18591). Install the four retaining screws.
  1. Tape the heater blower motor power lead to the air inlet duct to keep the wire away from the blower outlet during installation.
  1. Install the heater blower motor and blower motor wheel assembly in the vehicle.
  1. Install the glove compartment liner.

The blower motor is located behind the glovebox, behind the blower motor cover

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable, then wait 2 minutes before proceeding with the removal. This will effectively disable the air bag system preventing possible personal injury.
  2. Remove the glove box from the instrument panel.
  3. Remove the A/C-heater blower motor cover.
  4. Disconnect the blower motor wiring connector.
  5. Remove the blower motor wiring grommet and feed the wiring through the blower motor housing.
  6. Remove the blower motor mounting screws.

Once the cover is removed, unplug the electrical connector and push it through the opening in the housing

The blower motor is secured to the housing with three small screws

  1. Allow the blower motor assembly to drop downward to clear the instrument panel and remove from vehicle.
To install:
  1. Place the blower motor assembly into position on the A/C-heater unit and tighten the mounting screws.
  2. Route the blower motor wiring through the blower motor housing and seat the wiring grommet in the hole of the blower motor housing.
  3. Reconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
  4. Install the A/C-heater blower motor cover.
  5. Install the glove box into the instrument panel.
  6. Reconnect the negative battery cable. Check blower motor operation.

owner manual will tell you fuse layout. If you have only high speed, you have a bad resister. 4 wires.

Resistor —Heater Blower Motor Switch Removal
  1. Remove the battery (10655) ; refer to Section 414-01 .

Deluxe Hi-Lo Heater
  1. Disconnect the battery cable, remove the carburetor air cleaner and partially drain the coolant system.
  2. Remove the heater hoses from the heater core.
  3. Remove the glove box liner and remove the register duct by pulling from the instrument panel register and releasing the clip at the plenum.
  4. Disconnect the right cowl outside air inlet vacuum hose from the outside/recirculating door vacuum motor.
  5. Remove the rear housing from under the instrument panel. Remove the outside air inlet duct from the rear housing (4 nuts and 1 bolt) and install one upper nut to retain heater housing-to-dash after rear housing is removed.
  6. Remove two screws retaining plenum-to-dash (above transmission tunnel) and two screws to heater housing and remove the plenum.
  7. Install a piece of protective tape on A-pillar inner cowl panel, at lower right corner of instrument panel.
  8. Remove the lower right instrument panel-to-A-pillar bolt to hold the panel in the rearward position.
  9. Remove the heater core (3 screws retaining 2 plates).
  10. Remove the temperature blend door (snaps off).
  11. Remove the temperature blend door arm support (2 screws) and pivot arm retainer (1 screw).
  12. Remove blower motor (2 screws) and remove blower wheel.

To install:
  1. Transfer blower to blower motor and panel assembly.
  2. Install door arm pivot retainer (1 screw) and door arm support (2 screws).
  3. Install the temperature blend door (snaps on).
  4. Install heater core.
  5. Install the plenum (4 screws).
  6. Connect blower wires.
  7. Remove heater housing upper retaining nut and install the heater outlet (4 nuts and 1 bolt). Position the air inlet duct.
  8. Connect the white vacuum hose to the outside/recirculating door vacuum motor.
  9. Reposition the instrument panel, install the retaining bolts and remove the protective tape at the A-pillar inner cowl panel, lower right corner of instrument panel.
  10. Install the right register duct assembly and install the glove box liner.
  11. Connect heater hoses to the heater core assembly.
  12. Fill cooling system, install the air cleaner and connect the battery cable to the battery.
  13. Check blower motor operation.

CAUTION The Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system must be disarmed before removing the blower motor assembly. Failure to do so may cause accidental deployment of the air bag, resulting in unnecessary SIR system repairs and/or personal injury.

I have Jaguar XJR 2001. How do I replace Blower Motors Left and Right side? ( Noise bearing )

Driver side :
1- Remove upper steering column 2- Remove driver stowage compartment 3- Remove driver's footwell duct 4- Remove cable tie 5- Remove duct connecting blower assemble to heater/cooler unit 6- Disconnect harness connector from blower assembly 7- Remove blower assembly.
Install in reverse order. Tighten nuts to 5-7 Nm
Passenger side :
1- Remove Instrument panel 2- Remove passenger footwell duct 3- Disconnect harness connector from blower assembly 4- Remove festeners securing duct to heater/cooler unit 5- Remove duct connecting connecting blower to heater/cooler unit 6- Remove blower assembly
Install in reverse order. Tighten nuts to 5-7 Nm
