Question about RCA Televison & Video
These time , since you have changed the capacitors, check the horizontal
output transistor .
Check for resistance first, it might be shorted.
These transistor have three ( 3 ) pins namely the base , collector and
check for the collector ( center pin ) and the emitter pin ( rightmost pin)
the base and emitter is usually shorted ( if connected on the board due
to the HDT connected )
Assuming that horizontal output transistor is replaced and still not
working, you might need to measure the B+. ( can be the voltage
at the collector of it.)
If the voltage reading is more than 140V, horizontal oscillator is
If the voltage reading is 75 V , the flyback is partially shorted, take
down the flyback part number and have it replaced.
Try also resoldering the pins of the flyback might help.
If you have a bright light and a magnifying glass then you can/ might
see more cold solder joints.
Might as well check again the polarity of your installed capacitor
just in case.
The B+ can be from the chopper secondary output after the positive
side of the diode. It is mounted on the aluminum heatsink.
The horizontal output transistor is also mounted on an aluminum
