I am connected to verizon fios and then wired to a 8 port linysis to my office. I can not connect Now. It's been working fine for months. Now I get a yellow triangle. Limited or no connectivity

Let's check some settings for the network connections. Click on "start" - "settings" - "control panel" - "network connections".
First we'll check the ethernet connection. Right click on "local area connection" - "properties" - choose "Internet protocol (TCP/IP)" - "properties". In case of not at automatically settings click on both buttons to "obtain an IP address automatically" and "obtain DNS server address automatically".
Click on OK at both windows.
Now we'll check the Wi-fi connection. Right click on "Wireless connection" - "properties" - choose "Internet protocol (TCP/IP)" - "properties". In case of not at automatically settings click on both buttons to "obtain an IP address automatically" and "obtain DNS server address automatically".
Click on OK at both windows.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.

Switch D-Link DES-1024R + My problem is not gateways automatic

No It's not virus . It is issue of ip address in your computer. You can set ip address with 2 method static and DHCP. For DHCP you need to enable it in router. Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. or or or If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Then click on DHCP and enable so you can get ip from router.Enable "ip get automatic in network adapter tcp ip property. If you want to ser static ip in tcp ip then gateway ip set to router ip if your router ip is then your computer ip is subnetmask and gateway as Then you can access internet Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

How to configure d-link switch

Hi there, there is no real configuration settings for switchs as they are generally considered "Unmanaged Devices" and have no managment interface, if your using this device to connect 2 or more computers, then you need to assign ip's on each computer statically..
the general procedure for this is as follows. in Windows XP, right click on My Network (might be called network neighborhood) , click propertys, it should pop up a window with a list of items, one of them should be "TCP/IP", click on that and click Properties, in the new window, click "Use The following ip address".
on Computer A, you want to use the following settings.
IP Address: subnet mask : Default Gateway: (or the ip address of your router)
Click "Use the following DNS Server addresses"
Preferred DNS Server: Alternate DNS Server :
click ok, and do the same procedure on the 2nd and 3rd computers, in the ip address box on computer 2 and 3, add 1 to the final number, so computer B would have an ip of Computer 3 would have , and so on.

Ip address

  1. Type or in the URL web page address bar.
  2. Click on setup>Basic Settings
  3. Check the box labled DHCP.
  4. Make sure that the devices on the network have Obtain IP Address automatically radio button is checked on the network connections.
Now, all the devices are connected to network. Understand the meaning of 'Server'. Any PC can be a server, for that mater most devices can be a 'Server'. The term simply means providing resources like files, folders and printers. However how secure your resources are is determined by the operating system on the PC or device providing resources (printers, files/folders, cameras) . I recommend Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard as a Network Operating System for your PC. This is a very powerful and sophisticated OS and will most likely only be used to its fullest ability by a MCSA or MCP. This is not an OS that can or should even be touched by an average or expert PC user. This OS is intended to be managed by a professional trained and certified to use the OS. Please contact if you have any more questions in this area. This is my area of expertise.

The purpose of hp procure switch 2626

There is nothing special about these switches other than that they are managed. Managed means they have some means of connecting to them and "managing" them like you do when you configure a wireless router by going to some ip address in your browser to access the configuration. They usually are able to communicate statistics, set up virtual subnetworks, monitor ports, mirror ports, control which ports can access which others, set speed limits on ports, etc... A normal switch is "dumb", there is nothing to configure and it just does it's thing, connecting anybody and everybody that are connected to any of it's ports. Procurve switches are popular because they are great switches, there are other managed ones that can be had for much less, I use 48 port managed Linksys that have/exceed these capabilities for way cheaper... examples
