SOURCE: Can not get the hammer to line up to hit the staple.

Take the magazine out of your stapler and visually inspect the driver head for any damage. If there are any nicks, worn edges, or warps, this will cause the problem you are experiencing. Usually you can remove the driver head and pound it flat then use a fine steel file to remove any imperfections with great results. If this doesn't help, feel free to contact me at

SOURCE: Staples will not shoot flat. Have to hammer them

well most home hardware ones all do that if used on anything hard/heavy timber.....if it is a heavy industrial one it may need anew spring.

SOURCE: after shooting a staple the driver does not return

obvious answers are 1. a burr on the striker, 2. a bent striker. 3. a trapped staple 4. a broken return spring. other than that I cant help you without seeing it.

My Arrow T50ACD stapler will not advance staples. Driver blade appears to not be returning enough to allow staples to index forward. This is my second attempt on purchasing this gun. Can you advise?

the material you are stapling is not firm enough letting the slide hammer fall to far when this happens to me I just push it back in with a flat screw driver ..

My senco sps fires one staple, then hammer gets stuck forward.

If you've had and used the gun since 1998 and never rebuilt it, it's done you well indeed. If the driver is not retracting you most likely have broken or worn o-rings inside the cylinder. Senco makes a rebuild kit, part number YK0376. that contains all o-rings and wear items inside the gun. The kits run about $60 but your gun will be like new again. It's a relatively easy rebuild, just use lots of the Senco grease on the o-rings as you reassemble it.

Fastener length

Senco does not make a tool with the model number STS15. They do have a SNS15 narrow crown stapler which will shoot a staple from 3/8" to 1" in length, no longer. You would need the SNS18 to shoot staples longer than 1", it can handle staples from 3/8" to 1 5/8" long.

Stapler will staple ok then it will jamb and break staple in half, and driver will stick but you can put driver back and will run for a short time then has same problem. It also is breaking up staples as it...

It sounds like the gun is working properly but is having feeding problems. First, make sure you are using the proper staples for your gun. Senco makes three versions of the SKS(XP) stapler: The SKS L11-17 drives 18 gauge, 1/4" staples. The SKS M12-17 drives 18 gauge, 3/8" staples. The SKS N12-17 drives 16 guage, 7/16" staples. None of them use staples over 1 1/2" long and each gun will only shoot the staples it is set up for. If you are using the correct staples make sure the rail and nose peices are clean and the feeder shoe and staples are riding freely on the rail and the feeder spring holds them firmly forward in the gun. Lastly check the tip of the driver to make sure it is square, it should not be rounded or have any chips out of it.

Problem loading gun..Where do we put in the staples and change the dial to accomodate it? fred

The staples should load in through the end of the hammer stapler. The end is spring loaded to push the staples forward, so push the end - usually a crome square - into the handle end then move that part up approximately 1/4 inch and pull back. The spring mechanism should slide out so you can add new staples. These staplers take a specific size of staple and a certain number to allow you to put the spring mechanism back into the stapler. If you do not know the correct size for your stapler someone at your local hardware store can help you find the correct size and they will probably even show you how to load it. Good luck!

Staple gun has staples but quit working.

I hae the same problem. I don't know the real names of the parts so I will make up my own and try to describe them. The problem with mine is that the "hammer" (the piece in front that slams down on the staple and shoots it out) is broken. The "hammer" has two notches that the tension spring (actually a metal bar with two tongs not to be confused with the spring the returns the handle to the at rest position) fits into. One of these notches on the hammer is broken. Therefore one side is not attached to the tension spring the causing the other side to slip off and since the hammer is not connect to the tension spring you get no resistance. Unfortunately I could not find anywhere that sells a replacement peice.
