Question about HP PSC 1410v Printer
The printer prints beautifully but refuses to scan! I've scoured the internet, (google inquiries, the HP website and apple.com) but to no avail. My new computer won't recognize my printer as a scanner and I don't know what to do. I need my scanner!
Printer: HP PSC 1410v
Computer: Black MacBook with Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Yes, you can and it is pretty easy.
You should get the HP Wireless Printing Upgrade Kit
Here is there product description from HP.
Get everything you need to print wirelessly in this simple upgrade kit! It includes a printer receiver and PC receiver for a wired desktop or notebook PC, and it's easy to both install and use.
Works with most HP printers and All-in-Ones, plus all PCs, wired or wireless.

SOURCE: Leopard and psc 1610 scanning
First, Install the HP Software from here: http://preview.tinyurl.com/4wfxnq
Then, Search for 'scan' in spotlight or quicksilver.
Open up 'HP Scan Pro'
Choose your settings, and scan away.
Do NOT use the 'scan' button on the printer, it does not work. Ignore it and use the software.

SOURCE: HP PSC 1315, scanner and Mac os
To scan documents on Mac OS X using your HP PSC 1315, you need to download HP's "Device Manager" software which is available here : http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-41992-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=374572&os=219&lang=en
I just installed the software and am now scanning problem-free.
