It could be a junk switch or it could be bad contacts inside the transfer case motor.. Does the transfer case switch to the selected gears? Everytime? If so, you might try another switch. If it does the same, I would say the motor contacts are bad. Replace the motor if you want the lights, But I personally wouldn't do it until the motor quit switching gears. They're not cheap.

Getting LO error


Lo is an error code dealing with the safety loop, hi limit switches, water pressure switches. Check for continuity and the wiring between the hi limit switches and the water pressure switch. Also, check to make sure the filter is clean and the pump basket is empty. These also can cause a low flow situation that will cause the pressure switch to not close properly.

Hi lo beam switch doesn´t work


Take the switch apart vvvery carefully and inspect the wires and solder joints.If everything is ok switch is bad. Not uncommon.Get another switch.All the other switches are the same as the hi/lo in that if you wire it the same as hi/lo it will work.Just use the right pins to do what you want so if harley is out of hi/lo try?run stop,it's two pole.Good luck.Oh yeah,use pen tip soldering iron and stuff called silver solder .

One day my RV Coleman ac just quit running on low cool but every other setting works fine. Any ideas?


Is your Air Conditioner run with a wall mounted thermostat or the ceiling pack controls? If it is the ceiling pack controls, then your selector switch has gone bad and needs to be replaced. This is located in the ceiling pack itself and is relatively easy to do. You can easily test it with an Ohmmeter, going through these steps:

To check the selector switch, remove wires from the terminals
and rotate the switch to the proper position and read
continuity as follows:
Terminals Switch Position
L-1-3 Lo Heat
L-1 Lo Fan
L-2 Hi Fan
L-1-4 Lo Cool
L-2-4 Hi Cool
* If you do not wish to remove the wires from each terminal,
disconnect the 9 pin plug from the a/c unit.

2001 Dodge Durango stuck in 4 wheel-Low. Won't switch back to 2WD


Just to clarify, the "transmission" is not stuck in 4-Lo. It is the "transfer case" that is attached to the transmission that actually engages the 4-Hi and 4-Lo modes. To properly shift your vehicle into 4-Lo, you know that you have to shift the transmission into neutral and slow down to less than 5 mph. Once your vehicle slows down to this range, your can switch your transfer case into 4-Lo mode. Due to the inner workings of the transfer case, the actual shift into 4-Lo may take a few seconds to complete. This is normal and does not signify that there is an issue. All transfer cases that have 4-Lo mode will act this way regardless of the make or model. To make a long story short, to shift out of 4-Lo you must follow the same steps that you took to shift into 4-Lo, just in reverse order. Switch the transfer case to 4-Lo mode if it isn't already there. Slow down to less than 5 mph (your vehicle must be moving, though). Then, shift your car into 4-Hi or 2WD. Give your vehicle several seconds to complete the shift. The transfer case indicator light will flash until it is complete. When it does complete the shift into the new gear mode, you will most likely hear a "clunk" (the range sleeve inside the transfer case disengages from its mating spline) from under your car. Again, any transfer case with 4-Lo (regardless of make or model) will exhibit this same noise. This should help you get out of 4-Lo. It is good practice to shift your car into and out of 4-Lo at least a few times each year to keep all of the splines free of corrosion and build-up. Based on the age of your vehicle, your transfer case may also need a complete flush and some new transmission fluid. Hope this helps.

OK, This may not be a 92 gmc solution but I hope it helps. I had this problem on a non-gmc. The Hi-Lo switch on the sterring column grounds a relay to activate it and cause the switch to hi-beam. With Hi-beams on the steering column switch would loose the ground while turning the sterring wheel. The lights would shift to low-beam and back to hi-beam several times BUT looks as is they were going on and off. I run a new wire from the top of the steering column to a new ground to provide a ground path. The problem was cured.

Look for damaged wires, or something bent, on the Auto Disconnect Device on the front axle before you do anything else. The 4WD HI light is not coming on because the front diff is not engaging.
Re 4 LO: In 4 LO, you ar NOT getting "4 LO", what you are really getting 2WD LO, because of the output gearing of the transfer case.
In any case, your front diff is not locking in, in either mode. The A.D.D. controls the 4 Hi lite.
