My Troy-bilt Storm 7524 snow blower with electric start. If I depress the primer a few times I get some gas leaking from the carb area. I was thinking this was a cracked hose but hoses are all good. The engine will start only if I depress the primer bulb while the starter motor is turning the engine over. It will not start by hand. Any ideas?

you could try opening up the idle/mixture screw another turn to make the transmission from idle to throttle better
governors just open the throttle butterfly according to the spring tension setting from the throttle lever
I share your frustration. We just had our first snow fall of the season and my Troy Bilt Squall 2100 would not start or do anything. The snow blower is well maintained and does not have 2 hours use. I use 0-30 synthetic oil and installed fresh gasoline. It is simply maddening to have plunked down close to $500.00 and have a useless snow blower. Trying to get through to Troy Bilt's help line is next to impossible.
