Question about NetGear : WG111 54 Mbps Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter, RETAIL (DSNGWG111)

1 Answer

I have a NetGear : WG111 54 Mbps Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter. it is connected to my wireless router. I have verified this by using other solutions found on this website. My problem is that when I click on the internet explorer icon, it returns Page cannot be found. When I plug in directly with my Ether net wire connection, I get the internet fine. I can see the green icon in the lower right hand side of my screen with Excellent strength. How do i get the internet to use the wireless adapter?

You have to disable the 10/100BaseT Ethernet port.

Make sure the WIFI port is enable.

If not one else has a WIFI access point WITHIN 250 feet then you will automatically login to your wireless access point/router.

ENTER your WEP code (you had one set)

Your are done!

NetGear Wireless Router and NewGear WG111 Adapter

I imagine you bought the WG111 Kit. It could but throught the Router and/or the adapter. Uninstall all netgear software and drivers. Unplug the adapter. Reboot machine. Plug the adapter in and install the software drives. Basically your starting over. This will take the quess work out of trying to repair what was lost. After reinstalling go to this web page to configure the SSID,IP and adapter. http://kbserver.netgear.com/kb_web_files/N101179.asp

Netgear N150 Wireless usb adapter just installed. It identifies router and confirms good connectivity, but continues "acquiring network address" without success.

This means the DHCP service is not enabled on the wireless router.

either enable the DHCP service on the wireless router

or

Give a static IP onto your wireless NIC card ( Netgear N150 Wireless usb adapter )

Internet connection frequently drops, don't know why. Still connected to router, though not getting internet. Unplugging wireless adapter and plugging it back in fixes the problem...temporarily.

Hi

IF THE WIRELESS CONNECTION DROPS, try the following troubleshooting steps
1) connect Modem-Router-Computer
2) Open router UI (www.routerlogin.net)
3) User name : admin , Password: password
4) on the left hand side in the blue panel select Wireless settings (under Setup)
5) SSID: (user defined)
Channnel : 11 or 6
mode : upto 54 mbps or 150 mbps
Security : WPA-PSK (TKIP)
PASSPHRASE : (user defined)
Click apply
This should resolve the problem.

If the problem still persists u can try upgrading the drivers of the wireless USB adapter.

A good router to get with these would be a netgear WPN824 router. This is probably the best solution for you and has plenty of power. With it/ you will get an installation CD to help you. For further help with the installation, simply send me a message.
