Hello padma_bright, it sounds 'like' "there has been a 'change to the "OS" {Internet Browser}, and or "Home Page" without your 'knowledge!"

These 'changes' take place or happen; usually when "Downloading [New] Software, Installing 'or' Un-installing Hardware and Software.

"When a "New Toolbar, is {Installed without knowledge, or permission}, from "any type of download."

ie. Games, Videos, and especially Music!"

  • !Important: If you notice a "New Toolbar," in your Browser Window?
  • Next, click on the "Start Button -> Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Check: "Home Page" for your {Default Browser Settings}
  • ie. "If you had "Go ogle," now its? You Tube?

*To change the [Home Page]!

  • "Highlight to "Delete the 'Unknown Browser.'
  • Now, type: ie.,!"
  • This will; "Restore the {Default Browser}.
  • "Restart the Computer!"

*To [Uninstall the Toolbar]

  • Click on the "Start Button -> Control Panel-> Hardware and Sound -> Programs and Features -> Scroll to find the Toolbar.
  • Next, [Uninstall the Toolbar].
  • "Restart the Computer!"

"Go to this "Website," and "Fill-in" or {Choose} any information needed to get the "Drivers" you need.

Than you'll be able to "Download the Drivers."

"Please let me know if you 'need' further assistance, or the 'solution' helped? "By posting a 'Comment" or 'Rating' the solution. Thank you; your 'response' is important to me!"

A few months ago my acer aspire 5100, all 3 usb ports stopped working. Now my computer does not even start. I have tried switching it on... somtimes the speaker makes scratchy noises otherwise no such...

It does sound like a complete motherboard failure, do you have a recovery disc for the laptop? remove the hard drive and leave it out, remove one stick of ram, remove the main battery, and remove the wireless card. Now fire up the computer to see if the acer logo comes up and then it should go to blank screen with the cursor blinking, if it works to this point, turn off computer. Now install the hard drive and load the recovery disc, make sure the boot sequence is set to start the dvd driver first, if everything works and you have full control we are starting to get somewhere, if it fails, this is where I would change the hard drive and see if that makes the difference, if it does, replace the ram and wireless card back into position, and last the main battery. If all this fails it leaves the motherboard as the problem. one thing I forgot to mention swap out the ram if windows freezes.

I have a Toshiba Satellite U505 pc laptop that was working earlier today. I was in the middle of showing a video to a friend when it just shut down. I turned it on again and the Toshiba screen showed up...

If that was a video over the internet you may have downloaded a smart virus. ( ie/ tricks the computer in thinking it is safe ). Shut the computer down and restart it in safe mode. F8 or F11 while it is booting up, ( I could never remember! ). Close all residual tabs/web locations and all other programs. Go to the START icon and restart in normal mode. Me thinks that should do it for you.

My computer wont load farmville on facebook but it works when i do it on other computers' plz help

Please try the same with another explorer. Or reset the IE

Reset IE : Right Click on IE > Click on Internet Options > Click on the tab that says Advanced > Click Reset button .

Try using the Google Chrome.

If that too does not work. Try Uninstalling IE using the add remove programs.

Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components > Uncheck the IE box > Next > Finish

To Reinstall IE

Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components > Check the IE box > Next > Finish.

Last Resort would be a recovery.

Computer speakers do not work

Maybe you need to reinstall the driver for your sound card as what ever you installed may have currupted the original sound driver.
I hope this helps.
Have a good day and good luck.

basically your RAM determines the speed of your computer along with your proccessor, viruses and a lack of memory can also greatly reduce speed aswell as having more than 1 virus protection program running at the same time, to start with i wud upgrade the RAM card or cards to at least 4 gigs so two 2 gig cards will cover it, if you want to really boost speed upgrade your processor or better still "overclock" it, this method will increase the speed of your computer to the extreme it can run up to 300 times faster it will run ridiculously fast, also run a desktop defrag and cleanup this will free up a bit of memory

Sound Device not working but everything seems to be installed and working

you might want to try going into the bios of your computer (usually pressing delete when your computer first comes on) and looking in there to make sure your sound device is turned on.

Dell Inspiron SigmaTel C-Major Audio won't continue to work

running windows xp? okay click start and scroll to control panel. under control panel scroll to system icon and click. the system property box will open. click hardware then the device manager tab. clik on the sound, video and game controllers, this will open and you will see a list of installed sound devices/codecs as well as video codecs. see if the sigmatel codec is listed it is possible that it may be present but not set as the default. this can happen when installed programs such as media player, real player,quicktime.. install their own drivers to control the video and audio components. the codec is simply a driver program which interfaces between the computers installed hardware and the computers software, IE real player. I have an inspiron e1505, I ran into a similar situation and lost my sigma tel driver. it had to be reinstalled. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION------------------- GO TO THE DELL COMPUTERS SUPPORT WEBSITE. type dellsupport on web search navigate to the downloads section where it gives you the option of inputing your computer make and model, then select your oprating system. look for the downloads for audio devices, you should be able to find the sigma tel codec available for download. save the file to your hard drive in a location where you can access it again. okay back to correcting the problem on the device manager display under sound, video and game controllers. if you do not see the sigmatel codec then run the download from dell for the sigmatel and it will install automatically. hopefully this will correct your problem, it sounds to me like it is a driver problem the above steps will definately identify the sourcee and should provide solution to your problem
