The green light usually indicates that the monitor is getting a signal. The lack of a picture is an indication that the monitor itself is having a problem. I would test the signal with another monitor if you can get one. I suspect that the monitor backlight has gone bad (if so, you can see the screen very faintly if you shine a light on it). Or, the screen circuitry has gone bad.
the cable between the monitor and the console might have gone faulty or in rare case the inlet where you plug in the cable on console or monitor might have loosened up.check properly.
if everything looks fine then the inner control board will be faulty and have to be replaced.

I see many monitor with that trouble.
When you turn on comp., you can have a picture on monitor about 10-30 min. and that go in black screen, or If you change resolution again go in black screen.
You must repair monitor or bay another.
I suspect the invertor supplying power to the Xenon backlight tubes has failed.
This can be reapired but may not be cost effective.
Ask for a quote from your local computer specialist but keep in mind the cost of a new monitor.
this happened to me once and what i found was that i had missed a defective component..
these parts need to be checked for ESR
also check the solder connections....john
