Question about Coleman Powermate 7,000 Watt 13 Hp Portable Generator #PM0497000

1 Answer

The generator makes a very loud noise from the generator side not the motor side. If I pick up slightly on the housing it stops, but starts again when I let go. Nothing external seems loose. Any ideas? Coleman Powermate 8750 Generator Honda 13HP GX390 engine

Magnetron

If the microwave is loud or noisy only when cooking, the magnetron tube might be defective. The magnetron uses high voltage, high current DC power to generate the microwave frequency that cooks the food. Under normal circumstances the magnetron is nearly silent. However if it is damaged or nearly burned out it can begin emitting high pitched or growling noises. It's not normally dangerous to use a microwave oven when it makes these noises, but they are an indication that the magnetron is almost dead and will need to be replaced.

If the microwave is loud or noisy the stirrer motor might be worn out. The stirrer is a metal blade which slowly turns around, deflecting the microwave energy in a random pattern inside the microwave oven. As the motor nears the end of its useful life it begins to make grinding noises. The microwave will not heat food evenly without this stirrer, the motor should be replaced.

Cooling fan makes a loud noise

You may need to remove the blower motor and check for debris in the box, or a failing bearing on the motor.

I have a 2003 chevy cavalier. i just recharged the ac but when i put it on high it makes a loud noise. tracked the noise down to under the dash on the passenger side. what is that part called and should it...

THE LOUD NOISE IS PROBABLY COMING FROM THE BLOWER MOTOR WHICH IS LOCATED IN THAT AREA. THESE SOMETIMES MAKE A LITTLE NOISE BUT IF THIS NOISE IS LOUD OR JUST DOESNT SOUND RIGHT, THE MOTOR COULD BE GOING BAD.

My rear wireless speaker from one side is making a loud noise.

the problem is the transmitter. it is generating undesired signal. in all wireless communications if the transmitting end creates oscillations other than which is desired - they are termed noises. ur receiver unit happens to pick up one of those noises and is able to amplify it. a qualified tech will be able to identify the frequency range and filter that out on the transmitter stage. if the warranty covers it- replace!

GE Refrigerator GSS201EPWW is making a loud noise

This is the fan motor making noise but the fan motor is probably ok. The main board supplies voltage to the motor and can cause it to make strange noises.

Making loud noise, sounds like the fan is off balance when the compressor turns on but could this be a faulty motor instead?

It could be a motor. Make sure the blades are not hitting the shroud. Normally the motor stops working when it goes bad. I have not found one making a noise so loud it was noticeable.

Noise (more detail)

I think I answered this in an earlier post.

The noise is the fan banging against the motor housing. It's not a defective motor, it's a poorly designed motor.

The solution is to shim the motor mount so it is slightly out of level which will keep the fan from bouncing off the motor housing.

The reason Samsung won't service is they don't understand the problem. I've seen this a half-dozen times.

Trust me -- SHIM THE MOTOR MOUNT!
