Your model # gives no indication of what kind of vacuum you have.
I will treat it as an upright, most of which are basically the same
when it comes to belts. Remove the brush bar cover....some have screws and some have release tabs. Pull the brush bar out of the
side slots and slip the belt off of the motor pulley. Place the new belt
on the pulley and on the groove on the brush bar...pull the brush bar
forward and place into the side slots. GROOVE AND PULLEY MUST
LINE UP.

How to change vacuum belt on bissell 6583-x

I am not familiar with this model but the first step would be to
remove the brush bar cover...this may be attached by screws
or numbered tabs which are released in sequence starting
with #1. With the cover off pull the brush bar out and slip the
belt off the pulley. Be sure to buy the correct belt and line up
the groove on the brush bar with the motor pulley...put the belt on
the pulley and stretch the brush bar forward and insert into the
slots on the sides. I hope all this applies to your vacuum.

Need info on changing belt, no longer have maual

You will need a Phillips screwdriver and a new belt.
Unplug the vacuum, lower handle to lowest position, and turn it over so the bottom of the power head is up.
Remove the screws from the bottom plate and lift it off.
Remove the flat (outer) belt, or any fragments.
Slip new belt on to motor shaft, then over the large pulley. It's easier to get the belt over the pulley if you spin the pulley toward the brush while doing so.
Diagrams and information are found in the manual.
Click on the below link to get a downloadable copy of the manual. You can print it from there as well. How to change the flat belt is on page 10. The V-belt is on page 11.

The belt keeps coming off

A belt will come off for several reasons.:

Wrong size or stretched... should be changed ever 3-6 months.

Misaligned pulley on brush or idler pulley on 2 belt unit

Misaligned motor.. this is rare

Put in a fresh matching genuine belt and keep a spare handy. Belts stretch and slip long before they break

Hoover upright model u5095-930 belt change

I couldn't find your specific model but this may be similiar to another that you have to position the new belt around the agitator (beater bar) on the bottom of the vacuum, replace the cover, and then turn the vac over and remove the TOP cover to lift the new belt up and place it on the motor shaft/pulley. The new belt may require some effort to pull it over the pulley.

Hope this helps.

Change my belt on a Fantom vacuum model number is f1420gf

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The belt change on the Fantom is to remove the bottom plate by undoing the screws, clips or levers, then cut off the old belt, remove the brushroll on the pulley side and place the new belt on the pulley side and replace the brushroll. Then use a belt puller or screwdriver with a hook on the end and then stretch the belt onto the motor pulley and then track the belt in a straight line. The replace the bottom plate and you should be fine. The recommended belt change on a vacuum with a flat belt is every 4 to 6 months for the best cleaning and always use the genuine belts for the Fantom. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

How do you change the belt on a Hoover Elite

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. the Hoover Elite belt change can be done from the bottom under the bottom plate by removing clips or screws and the bottom plate should come off and then you can get @ the belt. 1st, lift the brushroll out from the pulley end on the side – remove the belt and slide on the new belt and re-install the new belt on the pulley side. Then use a belt puller or a screwdriver that may or may not have a hook or bend on the end and then stretch the belt onto the motor pulley and the track the belt in a straight line, then /2 that time replace the bottom plate. If you cannot get @ the belt from the bottom, then the top cover will come off and use the steps above.

So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Change belt

Remove the bottom plate, the V belt goes around the inner pulley and then the brush roll. The flat belt goes around the motor shaft and will stretch to around the bigger pulley by the V belt. f9e9b4d.jpg

How to change Vacuum belt?

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
Not knowing the name brand or model # most vacuums belt change from the bottom or by removing the top cover to change the belt for an upright, if you have a bottom plate remove the bottom plate and remove the belt, make sure the brushroll spins free and does not have any thread or hair buildup, once that is done slide the belt onto the brushroll pulley and then stretch the belt onto the motor pulley, once on the 2 pulleys then tract the belt and replace the bottom plate – plug in and turn on to check. If you have the type where the top cover comes off it is then the same procedure listed above for the brushroll and belt. If you have a canister with a powerhead there are 2 or 3 screws on the bottom and the top cover would come off and then follow the procedure just like the upright. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Hoover savvy changeing belt

There some screws on the bottom to take off, then turn vac upright, under the round Hoover logo sticker is another screw. It is just a sticker, so will peel off. You can work the belt onto the motor pulley, or unscrew the motor, put the belt on the pulley, then reinstall the screws to hold down the motor.
