Question about Cuisinart Grind and Brew 10 Cup Coffee Maker
My Cuisinart Grind and Brew coffee pot is only 1 year old and it is starting to stop brewing in the middle of a cycle. I've tried cleaning all parts that I can, thinking that I've gotten grounds clogged somewhere. Still doing the same thing. I don't have the receipt or box anymore of course and reallllly want it too work! Any solutions to try would be great!
Yup thats the Ticket - EASY FIX -
you have to clean the insides too people... lol.. The best way to do it is to buy citric acid crystals available from your local pharmacy. who knew huh? a couple of tablespoons in distilled water. Brew half the pot and let it sit for 30 min the brew the rest of the pot. Notice the color of your water after your done brewing. probably green from copper.. I could go into much more detail but thats the short answer... brew another pot or two of just plane ole water and bang your good go.. You should do this every month with any coffee pot for better tasting coffee..

I now use a clothes pin to keep the "on" button pushed in. I wedge it in place with my heavy ceramic coffee bean jar. Low tech, annoying, but it works. I'll try de-scaling again but it didn't help before.

This is what I finally figured out about this stupid coffee maker. If I push the button to make 1-4 cups THEN it will brew a whole pot of coffee. How stupid is that? For a month or two it would finish a brew cycle on its own but now the circuits inside of are screwed up and we have to program in to brew 1-4 cups to brew a whole pot. It's like a gremlin got inside of it and switched the wires.
Try that with yours to see if that will work.

Citric acid seems to be a lot better than vinegar (dilute acetic acid) for descaling. I was unable to descale an espresso machine with vinegar. However, the strong solution of citric acid worked very, very well. Citric acid also doesn't have the strong vinegar smell or taste.

We've had the same problem every three or four months. I believe the cause is hard water deposits clogging things up. I clean the coffee maker out, change the water filter, and run several rounds of vinegar water through the coffeemaker (this gets rid of calcium deposits), and the maker is good to go for several months.

If this is not an electrical problem, try the following:
Try running a cup of WHITE vinegar (of course without the coffee), this will clear out anything on the path.
Once you do this, run 5 cups of plain water (again without coffee) twice to clear out any vinegar flavor from the path.
