Check throttle cables see if they are adjusted right (freeplay) at the small adjuster under the rubber sleve on the cable by the throttle if all is well, the cold start (choke on fuel injected engines)might be acting up and the dealer can fix that it needs to be recalabrated

On a cold start i have no high idle for warm up

coolant temp sensor and intake air temp sensor would be the next to check.intake air temp sensor is in the air intake tunnel between TB air air box. when running is there a DTC? by disconnecting the coolant temp sensor you put the ecm values at default try that if it corrects your issue replace it.(it will turn your check engine light on but you can clear later by disconnecting battery)

High engine idle about 2000 rpms

I would have it checked to make sure no error codes and then suggest only having the IAC it uses checked or serviced-----Idle air control exists in many drive by wire vehicles--have a physical throttle and or cruise control cable-----the start is Google this year model with IAC symptoms.

They get dirty or fail and all sorts of idle issues are possible

When i start the car it revs up to 2000 rpms or sruggles at around 200 or 300 rpms. After it warms up the problem seems to go away. Their is no check engine light on.

You have a vacume leak, and once the temp sensor starts to read after the warm up the ecm starts to control. I would also check IAC idle air control valve.

Thanks for the help, I now have tons of heat!!!!! But I have another problem with my truck, for the past 2 weeks now everytime I start it it wants to stall. I have to keep it reved at around 1500 rpms for...

I think your on the right track with the IAC but before you replace it it wouldn't be a bad idea to clean out the throttle body and the air bypass passage in the throttle body with some carb spray. The iac is located on the side of the throttle body and usually has a four wire connector plugged into it. It wouldn't hurt to remove the IAC and try cleaning it before you replace it. Sometimes they just get really gummed up.

Another thing that can cause this symptom is a vacuum leak.

I’m happy to assist further over the phone at

With clutch pushed-in, RPMs start to go up to around 2000-2500

if it isnt the iac probably the pcv valve positive crankcase vent. it is on a vacuum line somewere under hood. or check the air cleaner, the hose with the small filter underneath the air filter. i take its fuel injected?

My car drives itself, revs high when in park to point of stalling

Bad or dirty IAC( idle control Valve) Romve duct work from air cleaner. Spray throttle cleaner or carburator cleaner with car running at about 1000 -1200 rpms . Aim straight at the IAC inside the throat of the throttle body. It is to the side of the throttle body . Try to aim at the hole and spary 10 seconds into the throttle body. Turn of the engine and let it sit for a few minutes. Then repeat the process. If that does not work, replace the IAC.

High rpms and then dies

check for loose vacuum lines or check to see if there cracks on them. you sound like you have a vacuum leak as well as your Idle Air Control Valve(IAC) going bad. good luck and happy holiday
