Re: Toshiba MW27FN1

That problem is in the vertical section. Check for leaky or dry capacitor(s). Check the capacitor(s) with values less than 50uF.
Good Luck.

Horizontal white lines across top of screen. About two inches from the top, some channels more pronounced than others but always there.

Check for dry electrolitic capacitors near the vertical Ic output maybe one of 50v to 100mf or 50v to 10mf

Horizontal white lines 27A43.

You have some bad capacitors. They are located very near and next to your vertical IC. I would guess you would have to replace maybe four of these! Thanks for asking!

I have white horizontal lines about 2 inches at top of my tv

You have some bad grounds on the Vertical IC. In addition to this, in the immediate area of this Vertical IC, are a few bad capacitors. Look for this IC mounted on a large heatsink. It may have seven pins . I cannot remember for sure. I have not worked on this particular TV, so I cannot give you specific locations. But I assure the problem is in this area! If you have some electrical experience you can pull this board out. In this case only the caps need replaced and the IC resoldered. Good Luck and thank you for asking. My 15 year old Toshiba Televisiononly shows a narrow horizontal band in the middle of the screen. Sound OK.

Hiii fairley,

You aren't specsificly dercribe yor tv set.
For common TV horizontal problem ;i.e : White line accross the horizontal screen, horizontal band,'s can solved by replacing the IC Vertical/Transistor, and olso to replace the cap nearest the IC.

For common TV Vertical Problem :i.e : White line at the center of the screen (top to bottom),Vertical band,etc...It's can cure by Replacing the Horizontal IC/Transistor,and offcurse the cap's.

Tha's what all I know....

Hope can help you to solved the problem.
