Question about Panasonic SD-YD205 Bread Maker
The paddle gets stuck, making screeching noises then continues...
I opened the unit; the belt is whole, maybe a little bent in one place.
There is black residue on the motor housing near the gear.
The unit is about 5 years old.
Will a new belt help?
Where can I get one?
Take the bread pan out of the machine and run a kneading cycle. If it is noisy with the pan out then you can take the belt off and try a kneading cycle again. If it's quiet, the yep it's the belt. If still noisy its a gear or the motor itself. If everything is quiet with the pan out then it's the pan itself. There is a sealed bearing in the pan that allows the paddle to spin. The seal on the bearing leaks oil and the bearing either freezes or does not let the paddle spin freely. There is no replacement for the sealed bearing ..and a new pan is needed. Good Luck Hank
