Lexmark X4270 All-in-one (by 23 users)
Having serious issues with Lexmark X4270 Printer, Fax, Copier and Scanner.
1st was the spooler issue. Solved and printer worked for 1 week. Now there
seems to be a problem with communication. XP will not communicate with
printer. Uninstalled - reinstalled did not work. Manually cleaned out
registry - reinstalled did not work. Spooler file is clean. Any ideas?

i cant reinstall the printer its saying there is no printer attached to the computer

I have the same problem as man1 has. Maybe I need a new install CD?

the local Wal-Mart for a 1.44 mb disk and an even quicker download and
install fixed the bios chipset for the usb driver. Printer is working great.
Any one using a Dell should regularly look for bios updates.

Unplugging is NOT the same as turning off. My guess is that the circuit boards were zapped by a power surge...Lightining during a storm? and unplugging powers down the power supply boards, which turning off does not.
Now it works fine. Hope this helps.

windows xp is not in the drop dowm menu for compatability.Printer does notprint micosoft works.

I've had my X4270 for a few years, and I just bought a new laptop HP Windows Vista Home Preminum. I knew I needed a updated software for windows vista so I downloaded it to my computer in order for the x4270 to work. The printer is the only thing that works. I can't fax or scann anything from my x4270. Do you have a solution? I check all connection, uninstalled and reinstalled.

I have a problem with Lexmark X4270. It was printing and scaning before. And now, that I changed my computer and tried to reinstall Lexmark X4270, it does not work. I tried to troubleshoot, it did not work. I tried printing a sample, it did not work Please provide solution.

tried to down load a driver
used the cd provided nil result

I cannot connect the all-in-one to the computer. I connected the usb cable correctly, but when I load the install disk, an error message is returned that the printer cannot be found. If anyone has similar problem let me know. I have Windows XP.
