Question about Hitachi 57SWX20B 57" Rear Projection Television
My Hitachi 57TWX20B will not power up. When I plug it in the red LED will come on for about a second and then clicks off and will not power up. Kind of looks like an overload problem. This was an intermittent problem and now appears to be a consistant problem.
The set has gone into protection mode. This activation is caused when one of the many sections of the tv develops a shorted condition. The only way to know where the short is at would be for a tech to search for it using diagnostic techniques. It requires a voltmeter and oscilloscope to measure the voltages and look at waveforms, often, to determien where the failure points are.
Please check for fuse that may have blown. Use your owners manual as a guide, also, for this symptom.
But, normally, let's say 80% of the time, this indication points to a serious, expensive repair. Very common is failure of the high voltage components - such as the flyback autotransformer or the horizontal drivers that power the flyback. But, it can be other factors, such as the main power supply, audio amplifier or deflection systems.
I suggest you have a good tech come in and diagnose the problem so you can decide what to do next.
Hitachi are one of the finest big screens around and you surely would want to get it running again if the repair is not totally outrageous.

Your main relay or some capacitor direct with that relay seems to be faulty. not sure, but if you can try changing these..
