You could try cleaning them off with a very fine 3m cloths same used to finely rub cars, but take care to clean off any excess before using the game cartridge

When games are inserted into console they will not play

If you are inserting a DS card, be sure there are no foreign articles inside the slot. Blow into the DS card slot to clear any debris. Also be sure you are inserting the card all the way in until it clicks. I've also found that if you're powering on a game, and you bump, grasp or touch the ds card as the DS is powering on, that can cause it to not read games.

Check the actual DS card itself and carefully look at the exposed contacts on the circuit board. Be sure none of them are scratched, damaged or otherwise. A scratch can damage a contact, thus preventing proper data read.

If anything was spilled onto the DS card, be sure it is thoroughly cleaned with a damp cloth (no cleeaning chemicals!) If you immerse the DS card, or pour liquids on it, that may damage it as well.

Same points hold true for inserting a Gameboy Advance game (if you have a DS or a DS Lite. The DSi and DSiXL do not have Gameboy Advance slots.

If you turn on the DS and nothing happens, try a different DS Card. If it only happens with that one particular game (or games) your DS cards are damaged or need cleaning. If all your games are not playing, there is a problem with your DS. Try your games in a friend's DS just to make sure. You'll probably have to send the unit to Nintendo for repair, or take it to an authorized repair center.

When i start up the game itsays 'loading please wait' and never ever loads up

make sure the contacts on the bottom of the game are nice and clean, you can use a damp q-tip with glass cleaner to clean the contacts. Then take a dry q-tip to clean off the contacts.

I would also take a can of air and blow some into the slot on your DS where the game goes.

Now put the game in and turn on the DS to see if the game loads. If it still doesn't load then at that point try some other games to make sure they load onto your DS. If other games are loading and not that game then get a new FIFA Soccer 09 to try. If no games are loading then that means the DS has gone bad and you'll have to get a new DS.

My Ds Lite will not reconize games.

Your game slot is probably dirty. You first trying blowing in it and see if that dislodges enough dirt to allow a game to start. Either way you want to buy a DS Lite game slot cleaning kit and clean the connectors in the slot. Also, make sure you clean the game contacts as well. If they have dirt on them it will get stuck on the contacts in the console when you put it in to play it. DON'T use alcohol to clean games or the ds slot. Buy a kit.

My daughters nintendo ds lite keeps freezing up.She has had the console for 4 years. It kept freezing up on her and shutting off, so I tried buying a new battery, and it "seemed" to work better but still...

You might have a dirty game port. As you play the game the game cartridge might be loosing contact with the contacts in the game port. If this happens the game will freeze. Clean out the game port with a cleaning kit made for the ds. Also clean all the games contacts as well. If they have dirt or grime on them they will pass it on to the contacts in the ds when you insert the game.

My nintendo DS lite says no game inserted and will not play anything even though there is a game in it. how do i fix this?

First you need to clean the game slot and the game contacts. You can purchase a cleaning kit online or at your local game store. Once it is clean this will likely fix your problem. If it does not, the best thing you can do is contact Nintendo to repair it or sell it as broken and purchase good used or new one.

I have nintendo ds lite and when you turn it on its says no ds game inserted, however it will play game boy advance games? I have no warranty because I bought it on ebay. What's wrong & what do I do?

Well inside the ds there is contact points where it connects to the cartridge. yours is so dirty that it cant make a good connection to the game. try cleaning your games with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol.and blowing the stuff out of that slot with an air compressor or canned air.

I tried blowing my Ds but it doesn't work

Rubbing alcohol works wonders at cleaning contacts. Take a tiny bit of it on a cotton swab, turn off your DS, clean the contacts where you plug in the game. Do the same for each game you own.

Pokemon Emerald in DS keeps saying files corrupt, crashes, doesn`t save. Any ideas? Thanks. Richard

Do other games work ok? If they do, your cartridge may be no good. You can try cleaning the contact points with a glasses or monitor cleaning cloth... If other games have the same problem, it may be the contact points in your DS, which are harder to clean.

NIntendo ds lite game going blank

If you are referring to a game going out during game play you need to clean the DS game slot as well as clean the contacts on all your games. The games contacts get dirty, sometimes you can't even see the stuff building up. When you put the game in the DS that dirt transfers to the DS's connectors and they get dirty over and over again until they no longer make good contact with the game. This has been a cause for game lock-ups etc. ever since the first NES console in 1985. Purchase a cleaning kit from a local store like Game Stop or Wal-Mart. If you can't find one there try Ebay. DO NOT USE ALCOHOL, this will break down the gold plating on the game contacts and the DS contacts.
