Question about Toshiba 705T Cellular Phone

1 Answer

Hello, I have tg01 that does not start up. It was running while the battery charge was there but once it shutdown it doesn't come up anymore. I've been charging it for days and the orange light turns on but it didn't help. The battery doesn't feel warm while it's charging either. I've examined the usb port on the phone and there seem to be a broken pin on one end. The contact is there but it may be too short. Is it possible to have the usb port exchanged? Or is the problem more than that? Please help

Hi.

If the USB port has a broken pin, that is surely the problem.

In fact this model uses the USB port to charge, a contact in there may cause the phone not starting, and surely it will prevent the battery from recharging.

The USB connector can be replaced, and it should not be an expensive repair.

To get a quote on repair, you can ask to a local repair shop, but before better grabbing the phone and calling Toshiba at the number listed on phone manual or on their website.

Regards.

if your seeing 12 volts after the charge, it doesn't mean the battery is good,, a single cell thats bad in a battery will give you fits and produce the problems you listed,, remove the battery , and have it LOAD tested, that way you will get a true correct reading, a battery can show `12 volts, but a bad cell will not let it charge to the correct amps it needs to start the vehicle. once you've done that , and your sure you have a good battery ,, start the vehicle,, ( make sure that when you replaced the battery , that all the connections are clean and tight) with a meter, place one lead on each battery terminal, you should get a reading between 13.5 and 14.5 volts, if you do , then your alternator is doing its job, if not,, replace the alternator, ( your vehicle doesn't have a generator)

My battery was was not charged for 2 days over the weekend and now it won't run on batteries. I need to have it on AC power every time I use it.

Hello,
Laptop batteries can become unchangeable if they are completely discharged, and left that way for too long. This happened to my Asus. IF you leave it charging over night and it still doesn't work you will need a new battery. If you contact the manufacture they will probably charge you over $100 for a new battery. If you use eBay, the average price is $32.

97% isn't that bad, it means that your battery is fully charged but not the whole way. That is bound to happen specially when youre using youre battery a lot. It will get a lot more lesser in the future the more you use youre battery.
The standard laptop battery starts losing the ability to hold a charge after 300 recharges or cycles. If you drain your battery almost completely at least once a month and then recharge it, it will last longer & hold a full charge longer.

i have the same situation. The workround I use is this...
Method 1
Start the laptop with the mains disconnected
Once Widows is running plug in the mains adaptor
The battery will charge correctly, the laptop will run on the battery if the adaptor is unplugged

Second method if the battery is flat
Start up with the battery removed
Once windows has started - plug in the battery
The battery will charge correctly

I have found no permanent solution so I use method 1 mostly
