Question about GE Profile PSW26P Stainless Steel Side by Side Refrigerator
I just encountered the same problem. I checked online for solutions and everybody was telling me it was the defrost heater to a computer board. I replaced all these things and they were wrong! I have a ge gss22sgpcss refrigerator. After I replaced all those parts my refrigerator was still warm! So, I noticed that the damper door was closed. I figured something was wrong with it. So, I opened the freezer door and I closed the refrgerator door and notice the light was still on! I taped the refrigerator light for the night and noticed the next morning that my food was cold! the damper door was closed because it was keeping the hot air from the refrigerator into the freezer! I noticed the refrigerator door was lower than the freezer door. I adjusted the door of the refrigerator to turn the light out and that solve my problem. I spent less than $200 dollars and that could've been in my pocket for christmas! The door adjustment was free! A lesson well learned for me, I have a manuel now for it that i saved online it has solutions and things to check, so that's what i do now, check my manuel.

Testimonial: "I will check the door. thank you"
I had this EXACT same problem. Woke up in the morning, and the temp inside the fridge was 93 degrees. I had to leave the door open so that it would cool down to room temperature. We lost over $200 of food on the fridge side. The freezer worked fine the whole time. At some point later in the day, the refigerator started working and has worked for the past two days. Repair man is coming out within the next hour or so. Will keep you posted.

Check if it is still under warranty - I think that it is usually 2 years.
When in this condition, was the compressor still running ?
There was one issue that occurred occasionally on some models - the fridge door has a height adjustment so you can level the 2 doors up. Sometimes, it drops a bit too much, and on models with the fridge door light switch on the top (not the side), it meant that it wasn't turning off the light. Some have 2 lamps (commonly 40W or more each), so you effectively have 80Watts or more of heating running constantly. If your (exact) model has the door switch on the side, this is Unlikely to be the issue.
If the compressor was not running, I could say something like "it might have got stuck in a defrost cycle", but this DOESN'T really fit with the operation of these fridges (no defrost elements in the fridge side).
Does this help in any way ??
