Question about Brother Disney ULT-2002D

Open Question

Brother embroidery designs are misaligned

I bought a new brother embroidery machine for my wife some time ago and didn't use it until recently for the first time. The output is excellent using the internal built-in designs. But I recently purchased a Disney Princess designs CD through eBay and my wife tried one, the design viewed just fine through the machines screen but the output was completely misaligned (Ie. the hair didn't match up with the outline of the hair, etc.).

Does anyone have any suggestions? Could it be our machine, software or floppy disk with the designs? We're using PEDesign which came with the machine, and obviously the PES format.

PS I had to copy the desired designs from the CD to a 3.5'' floppy disk in order to use it in the Brother machine. I merely ''copied'' and ''pasted'' onto the floppy, was this the correct way to do this?

Thank you all for your help, we're new to the embroidery world.

How to transfer embroidery patterns to Brother sewing/embroidery machine

Machine designs first designator is the file name. Your machine shows the file number for the design you want. You do still need to "select" that design number shown to actually begin teh file transfer from a thumb drive or cable direct from your computer if your machine has that feature.

Blank Card, PE Design says it's a ''read only''

Hi - I think the problem is that although the Magic Card is compatible with your machine, it is not recognized by with the PED writer. I have the Brother PED-Basic sfotware and a Brother PED-Basic USB card writer box. The only blank card that the my Brother reader can read is the blank cards made by Brother. Which embroidery machine do you have (not critical - I'm just curious).

If you have both a Magic card and Magic Box, the box should have it's own software. I don't think the PE Design software recognizes non-brother equipment (bummer). The link I've provided below is to a dealer that sells two different blank Brother Cards. One of the cards is 1 mb. The other is 4 mb. They are the same price. You might check your documentation to see whether both cards are compatible with your reader and software. If you're not sure, you can call the dealer directly and ask. I have dealt with this dealer many times and find that they have great prices and are very knowledgeable. This link should take you to the page on which the blank Brother Cards are displayed - scroll down if you don't see them right away.

This dealer is located on the East Coast, so you probably won't be able to reach them by phone until tomorrow. I don't know of a dealer on the West Coast to whom I can refer you. One more thought - Babylock equipment is often interchangeable with Brother equipment. If you have a Babylock dealer in your area, you might be able to find a blank Babylock card that you can buy off the shelf. Just make sure you can return it just in case it won't work.

Let me know if I understand your situation correctly - if not, send me another comment and I'll be happy to research further. BTW - if it turns out that you can't use the Magic card and can't return it, you can probably sell it online.

Thanks for getting back - I really love doing this. If you have general questions about embroidery, feel free to ask. I own several consumer embroidery machines, and I operated a commerical embroidery business for several years.

Misalignment when embroidering with husqvarna designer 1

Sorry that I did not see this sooner.
It sounds like you should have your embroidery unit serviced. Sometimes they will accumulate lint on the slide rods and it inhibits the movement of the mechanism as if you were to bump into it while it is trying to move.
Quite often, this will happen repeatedly in the same point in the design and make people think that there may be something wrong with the design. But, usually it is just that the embroidery unit can't move freely.
