Re: Sony Digimax s500

If that is the case, you need to turn off your flash when
taking outdoor pictures because it seems that the pictures are overexposed.

Try to avoid the sun when taking pictures outside.

But you could try the steps below:

- Turn off camera
- Remove batteries for a minute
- Return batteries
- Turn on camera

- Turn on camera
- Press MENU button
- Scroll to the right until you see SETUP
- Scroll down and look for RESET
- Press right button so you could see YES or NO
- Select YES
- Press MENU button
- Turn off camera for a few seconds so that
settings will be refreshed

* If it still does not work, call the Manufacturer so they
could tell you how to send camera for repair.

When I put it on M mode or auto mode it takes really horrible pictures, can't even see the picture, real bright.. When I put it on movie mode it takes great pictures but that is not good.

Usually when it is on M mode there is additional options you can adjust "manually" for good shots... It could just be that the options are adjusted not for the type of Pics you intend to make. Ex. It's set on low light when you are trying to take a high light exposure picture.

Trying to take a picture outside, when I've taken it, the image is all white. Why is that?

This problem may occur if camera got too much bright inside the lens. Try to turn off the flash light and try to avoid taking picture in front of direct light, sun or lamp.

When i take photos during the day they come out to bright

When you are getting ready to take a picture, press the down arrow a few times to get the light balance you want. It will be trial and error. You can also try setting your ISO speed to a lower number. 100-400 is pretty much maximum for bright sun exposures.

When I take a pic all I get is bright light

Sounds like your lens shutter is not closing. This results in very bright pictures(overexposure). I suppose it could be a shutter speed setting. Look around in the camera setup menu for a "camera reset" or "initialize" command.

Flash makes my pictures too bright/too dark

u might want to try and put a coffee filter over your flash when you take pictures to make the flash less bright. it sounds really silly but it actually works.
