Re: Color Copies - double image
I have to ask this question of you, just to make sure this is not an issue. Are you using a factory new ink cartridge? Please consider the following: If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges. They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead. If you are using factory new cartridges, then please call the manufacturers Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges Don

If the message Change Imaging Unit Magenta displayed refer to imaging unit with contents a developer. The Imaging unit life is 80.000 copies. The imaging units located after front door when is located the waste toner box. If the message M toner end/change the M toner displayed refer to toner cartridge The toner cartridge life 15.000 copies 5% saturation. In full color mode the color saturation is 80% and the color toner life is 6.000-8.000 copies. I think your problems is a toner not the developer.
Imaging drum reach 20,000 (black only) or 5,000 (color), replace the image drum.
Supplies life The life of the imaging drum depends on the number of black-only or color pages that print jobs require. Imaging-drum life is also affected each time the device calibrates because calibrating causes the imaging drum to rotate. Imaging-drum life is measured in terms of number of rotations rather than number of pages printed. The type and length of print jobs also affects drum life. A series of short print jobs uses more drum life than an equivalent number of pages printed in a single large job. To extend drum life, print multiple copies of a print job at one time rather than sending the same job to the device multiple times. The life of a print cartridge depends on the amount of toner that print jobs require. When printing text at 5% coverage, black print cartridges last an average of 5,000 pages and cyan, magenta, and yellow print cartridges last an average of 2,000 pages. High-capacity cyan, magenta, and yellow print cartridges last an average of 4,000 pages. (A typical business letter has 5% coverage.)
Ninty-five percent of all image issues like this are caused by the carona-drum-toner assembly. I have not worked on this model but the only way to diagnose the issue is to try a new drum / toner cartridge and see what impact it has. Then once you resolve the issue you can discuss the service life after the fact.
your laser printer
1) print color quality is now distorted that means print skew (technician called)
2) print tint means the print color not enough density,
3) print mottle means print dirty
you may try
1) print distorted--- find out the skew adjustment from your printer manu, it is adjust the image before transfer to the drum.
2) print skew could be happened when the drum replace install not very accurate, so install it more carefully.
3) print tint---you may increase print density from the manu, not fix,
4) print tint---the toner caridge near life cycle or using the less compatible toner. so you have change the quality toner or cartridge (if near life cycle) to improve quality photo print
5）print mottle---toner quality ? or cartridge near life cycle also cause print dirty paper,
If you could possibly manage to access the machine status menu and have it print to check the drum's life, fuser life, developer, etc.. pls refer. Kindly replace the toner cartridge accordingly use the menu settings when replacing any color if needed. Please print solid image or block in each color Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Balck. Well see if what color causing the problem. Please let me know the print result it may be; washed out or too light, too bright or black, double image, or not clean. Don't hesistate to contact me again about the result.
