Protect on display

Since you didn't specify the make and model of your camera or the full text of the message, I'm going to make some guesses.

I assume it's a camera that uses SD cards saying that the card is protected. If I'm right, take a look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

If I'm wrong, please reply to this post, specifying the make and model of your camera and the full text of the message.

How do i shut off write protection

Hi, i have here a photo that will show you on how to remove write protect on a micro SD.
1. You need to insert your micro SD into an adapter. 2. Unlock the micro SD through your adapter as shown below. 3. Once done, your micro SD is no longer write protected. eibraz_16.jpg

NOTE: The lock switch doesn't lock the micro SD into the adapter; The lock switch doesn't lock the data on the micro SD; The lock switch simply tells the "user" not to write. It just says "please, don't write me."
I hope this helps.

Camper says internal memory is full and i have only taken 12 pics. i think there might be "protected" pics. but i don't even know how to protect pics or to un protect them.

Digital cameras that come with internal memory usually have a very small amount of storage capacity (usually 32 or 64MB). I'm not sure why the manufacturers even bother with internal storage when you can get memory cards that have much more capacity. You need to either download the photos you've taken to your PC and then delete the photos so you can take more shots, or you need to insert a memory card. Depending on your model of camera you need a microSD or SD card. Let me know the model number of the camera and I will tell you what you need to get.

Hope this helps!

I purchases a vivitar vivicam 8025. Unfortunately the instructions got thrown away. I've only taken a few pics and the camera says "memory full insert sd memory card to transfer and take more...

You can download the manual from the manufacturer's web site at
http://www.vivitar.com/files_products/13/VC8025%20User%20Manual.pdf

The camera needs a memory card in order to save pictures. You can take pictures without one and view them on the screen, but those pictures are lost when you turn the camera off.

Just purchased a Samsung PL210 camera but it doesn't come with an instruction booklet regarding how to use different modes. Why not?

Hi, Samsung includes a disk that has the instruction manual on it instead of a paper one in order to save on paper. If you've lost the disk here's a link to the instruction manual online: http://www.scribd.com/doc/52736239/Samsung-Camera-PL210-PL211-English-User-Manual

Hi I have a Canon 500D and the camera, not the sd card, is is on card lock and I do not know how to remove it. I have looked in menu and gone to 'protect Images' and it says "Card write protected'. ...

Hi Carolyn. There could be several reasons for locked card. 1. pin on side of the SD card must be in UP position, not DOWN2. Reformat your card via computer to FAT323. Card reader inside camera has one "little piece" inside for monitoring if the pin on SD card is pulled down or not. If this "little piece" is bent or broken, your camera could mean that SD card is locked. In this case easiest way is to return camera back to shop. Or if you like, disassembly camera, but you will lost your warranty.

How do i take write protect off?

Good day,

This tip will explain how to remove the write protect from your SD Card.

This is a easy fix and won't take a minute.

First remove your SD Card from your device. You will see on the side of the SD Card that there is a small switch. If your SD Card complains about being write protected simply put the switch in the opposite position. Some of the SD Cards even have the word LOCK on near the switch indicating the direction the switch must be to LOCK the card.

Once the switch is changed you can put the SD Card back into your device and the problem of write protection would be solved.

Please feel free to let me know if this tip was able to help you!

Can't find pictures on SC card

Try transferring the pictures to your computer then erasing the copies on the sd card, then putting the pics back on the sd card from the computer and then of course back to the camera.
