There are two problems in the unit i will explain: 1) the unit not reading the cd and dvd is due to fault in the lens of the unit.in the unit there is a reading lens called the eye of the unit.the lens is made up of thing glass.if the dust gets collected on the glass of lens then it cannot read the cd and dvd also if the lens gets weak then also same problem occurs.so first lens has to be cleaned by dry tissue paper and checked if still the same problem occurs then lens needs replacement.the lens is located in the unit and the unit needs to be disassembled to reach the lens. 2) the tray error is occurred due to tray not coming in or out properly.there are gears on the sides of the tray if the gears gets worn out and cracked the tray will not function properly.in many cases it has been seen that gears are good but some dust particles or any other foreign object blocking in between the gears to move them frequently and this can cause the tray error. -------- mostly the unit needs to be opened to remove the disc from inside.but in some cases it has been seen that unplugging the unit from main power outlet for two minutes then reconnecting the power wire of unit and pressing the eject button 10 to 15 times releases the disk or the other option is to take a thin and strong knife and inserting it in the side of the tray and pressing the eject button releases the tray out if its a minute blockage to the tray.but if nothing helps disassembling the unit is advisable.as its not very hard to disassemble the unit if fitted with some screws just require proper tools to open it and bit patience and you can open the unit. This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya

Error 0a-0224-0000

Dear Vincent,

The 0A-0224-0000 is a "File Copy Failed" error. It means that either the computer was not able to read from the CD/DVD or it finished reading from one CD/DVD and was expecting to read data from the next one (when you have two or more recovery CDs/DVDs). If you have more than one recovery CD/DVD, as soon as you see the CD/DVD reader LED (light) stop flashing, eject the CD and insert the next one in the sequence, doing so till all recovery CDs/DVDs have been read.

If you cannot eject the DVDs by pressing the eject button (some DVD writers only allow you to eject the disc after finishing the whole operation) you will have to straighten up a paper clip and insert it in the small hole close to the eject button to force it open and change the CD or DVD (do a Google search for "how to open a CD or DVD drive with a paperclip, in order to better understand how to do it)".

Hope this helps!

If you have a flash drive, go to your pc and download the songs onto your flash drive and plug it in to your xbox.

Have panasonic dmr-ez485v error message -NO READ- changed disks used prerecorded movie same as my recorded disks, hit reset - still no change

I just saw the date on this message and realize that it was awhile ago. I assume that you have dealt with it by now... So for others who are trying to fix their DVD player:

I have a DMR-EZ485V DVD player and just started getting the error message "No Read." I couldn't find an answer on the internet and finally called Panasonic's customer service, (there is no charge 1.800.211.7262). Since it says "No Read" to everything--store-bought DVDs, burned DVDs, CDs; AND when there is nothing in there (it acts like it is trying to read when the tray is empty), the customer service rep thinks that I am having a lens issue. It either needs to be cleaned (can pick-up a product at Best Buy or Radio Shack) or, if that doesn't work, the lens needs to be replaced.

Desktop DVD fails to recognize "commercial" DVDs

Hello my friend,i can think only 2 things. The first thing is the region code.So right-click My Computer then select Properties, select the Hardware tab, click the Device Manager button and go to DVD/CD-ROM drives, double click to open the tree. Then choose your dvd burner and double click or right click and properties to open the dvd properties.Go to the dvd region code and select the code/country that the dvd supports and click OK.Also you can download a program called region free. The second thing is that your drive supports CD-R, CD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R DL, DVD-R DL, DVD-RAM so if the disc is something else then is not supported by your reader/burner.

Cannor Read DVDs

I have a similar issue to you, except that my dvd drive will only recognize a disc if I have booted up into windows with it in the tray...once in windows it will still think it has the first disc in no matter what disc i insert. If i boot up with no disc then it will never read it unless I follow the steps below.

A solution I found by pure frustration and trying all sorts of things is to eject the DVD tray and leave it opened, then right click on the dvd drive in 'my computer' and select the 'hardware' tab...then select the drive and click 'properties'.
A new window should open. Select 'volumes' and click 'populate'. Now close the window and insert the disc you wish to read, close the tray and repeat this process. Windows should now recognize the disc you inserted

Alot of trouble I know, but it works for me. Hope this helps.

Tempremental playing dvds

In response to your jvc-a75r DVD player, sometimes the solution might be less complex than it may appear. Had the same problem with my Samsung s321,the machine refused to read DVD's but would play CD's no problem. Simply opened up the cover(usually)4-6 small screws, and found my dog's hair inside of the player covering the laser eye.Electrostatic ionization attracts dust, etc. into the player remarkably well sometimes. Carefully used a cotton swap to remove debri. PLayerworked fine afterwards ...Good luck!

ERROR, NO DISK

No if the cleaning does not work, you will need to have the unit hooked up to test equipment to check if the laser is bad. It could also be a bad spindle motor if the unit will not spin. good Luck
